Yordan has played in 2 postseasons. His first one was a disaster. .241, 1 home run in 18 games and 21 strikeouts. His 2nd postseason was decent but again like 8 RBIs and 2 hrs in 17 ish games. Based on those performances, alittle quick on the him passing bags in the playoffs Keep in mind, pitchers often pitched around bagwell and he often went up against Maddox, glavine and smoltz.
He hit .412 in the 2019 WS with an 1.112 OPS. In the 19 game stretch from the end of the 2019 ALCS through game 2 of the 21 WS he posted a 1.242 OPS. His only major hiccup overall was the true disaster in the 2019 ALCS, but bad stretches happen, what are you gonna do.
I've often felt like CLUTCH is a two edged sword. For those who love it, they think of rising to the occasion like Mr. October. But I always felt it indicated either being lazy in the regular season or just a statistical anomaly.
His postseasons have been weird. In 2019 he was horrific in the ALCS, and terrific in the WS. In 2021, he was horrific in the WS, and was the ALCS MVP. Overall, I’m not worried about that. He’s one of the scariest hitters on the planet. Get him enough ABs and he’ll be fine. When the 2B in RF shift goes away he’ll be even better.
******* Pads got a proper assist from Bud Selig that series as well I knew, just ****ing knew, that we were going to play that GOAT Yankee team in the WS. 2nd best Astro team of all time.
This thread took a depressing turn really fast. Here's a couple of bombs from Alvarez. Cheaper than Prozac except for Crane. https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/sporty-videos?playId=f86b3051-ea2f-40a8-b0c2-b1338991f8d7 https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/sporty-videos?playId=000592e6-66ab-4b6b-95e2-5c3c004e75ef
