Any way to watch mid week other than the Tennis Channel? I don't want to subscribe for $120 or so per year.
it's only on the tennis channel mid week. but now that the finals are approaching this weekend, i believe nbc will also be broadcasting as usual
Yeah.. we were able to watch on broadcast or Peacock on the weekend. It's a shame Nadal/ Djokovic wasn't widely available. Also a shame that Nadal was seeded 5th so they met before the semis.
yeah after the 1st set, the match was super intense. Couldn't help but cheer for Nadal and how he played to come away with a W
Great match between Nadal and Zverev. Zverev just rolled his ankle terribly. 3 hours in and still in the second set.
damn both went to tie break too. So that's it, Nadal moves on with Zverev out with the ankle. Damn that suckssss
Once again, Peacock network fails. Just as yesterday, they didn't start coverage until 11:00 AM EDT. Yesterday, we missed Swiatek's quick match. Today we missed the long first set. Nadal was down 2-6 in the first set tiebreaker and came back to win it. Second set, both players were broken 4 times. During the long break after Zverev was hurt and the start of the other semifinal, they should have shown the tie break from the first set and chose not to.
Nadal at 36 dominating over Ruud at 23. Nadal is among the greatest athletes in any sport. Feel bad for Ruud having to play your idol and mentor. In this case youth was served but couldn’t return.
Yeah, I pay no attention to Rafa injuries. Supposedly, he's always injured and just barely able to play. That happens all the time. I feel like if he shows up, he's 100%
With all the constant significant injuries I kind of hope he retires on top soon so he doesn't have to live the rest of his life with nagging pain. I suspect though that if he can drag himself on the court and play at an elite level he won't hesitate to be out there regardless of the long-term damage.
As someone who pretty much lives with chronic pain from decades of my sport I don’t fault Nadal at all. I wasn’t anywhere near the level Nadal is at but for someone like him that’s his life and what gives it meaning.
