This might belong in the misinformation thread https://www.tampabay.com/news/flori...disputes-states-vaccine-transgender-guidance/ Desantis is advising against children getting the vaccine because of the right-wing claim it causes myocarditis. A few things he fails to mention 1. Florida warned in its guidance that children who take the vaccine could contract serious conditions such as myocarditis, which is the inflammation of the heart muscle. At least four of the researchers whose work the department cited in its guidance said the their words were taken out of context. 2. the risk of a child contracting myocarditis after getting infected with COVID-19 is 25 times higher than the risk of contracting myocarditis after getting a COVID-19 vaccine.
This continues to need to be stressed. The amount of death that there is even a correlation (no clear causation) for taking the vaccines is in the 1:million figures. The amount of deaths from getting infected with COVID-19 is 1:100. You have a 10,000 times greater chance of dying if you get infected with COVID-19 than you do from the vaccine.
This is very undifferentiated. When you properly analyze it by age groups, the risk is vastly different. Your post is only vaguely correct if you are talking about very old people. https://bbs.clutchfans.net/threads/...n-thread-please-try-to-be-nonpartisan.314906/
Why did he agree to give $35 million in public funds from a state that offers bare bones public services, among other ignominious distinctions - to a major league baseball team owned by a wealthy (but cheap) wall street billionaire?
So he used his government power to veto the funds based on their expression of support for gun control?
The state can use its power to silence dissent, so long as it's not Twitter, the nation's town hall. @Os Trigonum
Is that actually proven? The motivation appears to be inferred, rather than stated, so far. Maybe he just doesn't want to use taxpayer money for a privately owned (by a billionaire) sports franchise?
Maybe, but it seems to be a pattern with him after the Disney thing. Personally, I don't care if cities don't help fund entertainment venues. I'd rather see that money go to more important things. I remember when he vetoed surviver mental health care funds for LGBQT victims of the pulse nightclub shooting. He does seem to have a habit of treating gays differently, or anyone who speaks out against Republican beliefs.
