Republicans use the price of gas to blame Biden. They want to keep it that way. Make no mistake. They have the big oil company money in their pockets.
Dumb populist move to save their mid term bacon. So we have a supply shortage, and the way to "help people" is to reduce the price of gas by a 25-50 cents and encourage everyone to use more of it?
There aren't legal obstacles preventing more dri Putin didn't start this stupidity to raise gasoline prices. The boycott of Russian oil is his biggest threat against him currently. The oligarchs aren't going to put up with economic losses Economics dictates drilling activity in America. Oil producers were drilling at q level that maintained the best price for everyone before the war
We need oil & gas companies to produce more oil & gas to get gasoline prices down. This is a supply issue. Taxing oil & gas companies at higher rates reduces their incentive to produce -- it's simple and obvious financial logic. Schiff's proposal might make himself feel good, but it will actually raise gas prices. Dumb policy, as expected from that clown.
Do some reading to find the truth. The oil companies can produce more if they want to. They are profiting billions by raising gas. They are greedy greedy greedy.
You have many learning curves to climb before you are ready to understand how oil & gas companies make investments. Realistically, I don't expect you to achieve understanding on this topic in your lifetime. May I ask what you do for a living? In many respects, it's a tribute to our society's progress that people with such limited knowledge and financial skills can make ends meet.
I'm not debating with a guy like you who thinks he knows more than anyone else. Typical condescending response from a die hard Republican. Have a good day snobbing it up with someone who actually thinks you are as smart as you act like you are.
Do you really think oil companies drill to produce gasoline? LOL. Gasoline is a byproduct of oil and damn near everything you touch is a byproduct of oil from your phone/keyboard, the plastic water bottle you drink out of, the makeup you use and the list goes on forever. It takes a special level of ignorance to just wander around and fling poo like “ban drilling and oil” cause they are “greedy” when the goal of every single company that exist is to make a profit.. lol. It’s even more telling when people hear it and run with it as their agenda. Just goes to show how people just cling onto what political side they are on without putting their heads together to make the world a better place.
No I don't. Here, let me finish that for you. It takes a special kind of ignorance to believe teachers are groomers by accepting gays. It takes a special kind of ignorance to believe more guns and loose gun laws don't increase violence. It takes a special kind of ignorance to believe that kids are safer with guns in the home. It takes a special kind of ignorance to believe Trump won the election. It takes a special kind of ignorance to speak at hate group rallies and urge them on to start a coup.
Ongoing Diesel Exhaust Fluid shortage because when we told Russia to piss off, they cut their piss off. P.S. Don't let any truckers you know piss into their def tanks... https://marketrealist.com/p/def-shortage/ May 25 2022, Published 9:10 a.m. ET Shortages of industrial and daily use grocery products have become a part of life amid the global supply chain crisis. Urea and DEF (diesel exhaust fluid) have also joined the list of products many are finding hard to buy. Why is there a shortage of DEF and urea? While urea is used for fertilizers, DEF is used in diesel vehicles. DEF is used to break harmful emissions from diesel vehicles and is used in SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) system. DEF is stored separately and isn't mixed with diesel. The DEF tank usually has a blue filer cap and DEF is also marketed as AdBlue. Urea is used in DEF production. Urea accounts for almost a third of the DEF solution, while the remaining two-thirds is de-ionized water. DEF is used in diesel vehicles that were produced after 2010. A vehicle’s DEF usage depends on its mileage and the number of miles driven. The urea shortage is a global issue. There's a global shortage of urea. While the ongoing supply chain issues are also to blame for the urea shortage, the situation got worse after Russia invaded Ukraine. Russia is a major fertilizer exporter and the country has banned fertilizer and urea exports. China, which is also among the major urea exporters, has put restrictions on exports. Urea prices have surged over the last year, which is leading to high fertilizer prices. To ensure the domestic supply of fertilizers at a time when there are real risks of a global fuel shortage, countries have been looking to curb exports and prioritize domestic consumption. Natural gas is the key raw material in urea production. The shortage and soaring energy prices have increased the cost of production. China, which faced a severe power shortage, had to ration power supplies among different industries. This impacted production of several goods including urea. Why is there a DEF shortage? Since urea is a key input for DEF, the shortage is having a negative impact on the DEF supply. Also, Europe, which is among the major DEF exporters to the U.S., is battling higher prices and natural gas shortages. Rising fertilizer prices could impact food inflation. The rising prices of fertilizers including urea could mean that global food inflation might continue to run at elevated levels. Policymakers across the world have been worried about an impending food crisis. The shortages are no longer about some of the packaged food products, but even some staples have been in short supply. The Russia-Ukraine war has led to a global shortage of wheat. India was expected to make up for at least some of the shortfalls, but the country had to limit exports because its wheat crop yield is expected to fall in 2022 due to unusually hot weather. The country is also restricting sugar exports to tame spiraling inflation at home. The AdBlue shortage has a global impact. Coming back to the AdBlue shortage, many users on social media have vented their anger on how it isn't as widely available as they were used to. The shortage has also been reported in countries like Australia that have mandated DEF. According to Discover DEF, “If the truck is allowed to run out of DEF the engine's power is reduced, a solid red warning will be displayed and the vehicle speed will be limited to 5 mph until the DEF tank is refilled.” If the DEF shortage gets worse, it could ground commercial fleets since they mainly run on diesel.
While I mostly agree, I just don't agree that Biden implemented policies to "get rid of drilling and oil." I've always felt that characterization goes too far and is hyperbolic. I wouldn't characterize the Biden admin as a "friend" of the O&G industry, but to suggest he tried to shut them down or get rid of them is too far. I really doubt Trump would be getting much more production in the current environment. His deregulation policies helped enabled the global supply glut that resulted in the worst bust since the 80s. A recession is inevitable and has pretty much been around the corner for almost a decade. The severity and timing of it is the big question.
We've gone from a peak of 12.9 million BPD in 2019 to 11.6 million BPD today. The issue is overseas, mainly OPEC (who took 10 million BPD off the market due to the pre Covid supply glut) and Russia. Somehow O&G companies keep raising production under Biden.....
Domestic oil production is less than it was 3 years ago despite booming oil prices. That's a function of the ESG movement and the Biden administration discouraging capital investment in oil projects (production, transportation). There is an undeniable causal relationship between Democrat policies and high oil prices.... which in turn creates high prices at the pump.
