Such a bad post. The rockets were the oldest team in the league. There are only so many routes to be taken. As a follower of the rockets I suppose I should cuss and demand everyone to be bitter and negative about getting a top pick. Or maybe instead the last two years hope to get perhaps the 10-24th pick. Your post has changed my mind. I have a winner mentality now. I hope the rockets get kyrie and Zion. (Albeit two number one picks) but at least it wasn’t a rockets pick and I didn’t have to suffer the loser mentality getting them and only had to trade and/or sign them in free agency.
Clips have the best package for him. Nets probably will accept it. Something like Jackson, Powell, and Kennard future 1st probably get it done. With kyrie going to clippers forming a big 3 with Lenard healthy and G Paul.
Actually, the goal of tanking is be the exact opposite of the kings. The kings are the team always trying to compete, always making the “win now” moves people like you want. Unless this magical “top FA” that you would add to kyrie is jokic, we would still be very mediocre next season and all that would happen is we would pick 10th instead of 3rd, and for what? To go 34-48 instead of 26-56?
ZERO interest in that self absorbed asshat - ZERO! I'd gamble on giving Zion a max contract... I dont even want Kyrie on a min contract! I want that dude NOWHERE NEAR OUR PLAYERS! subtraction by addition? lol
Rockets and Nets are inextricably linked for the next 5 seasons. There will always be interest in making the Nets worse over that time period. Creating the cap space to sign Kyrie outright by trading away Wood, EGo, etc. into another team's cap space...(Sacramento/Portland), would definitely apply pressure on the Nets to offer Kyrie a max or near max deal for extended years. Because if they lost him for nothing they lose a ton of trade flexibility and are limited to the MLE to sign players. And most likely KD will ask out... On the flip side, signing Kyrie to a 3-year max deal doesn't hurt us. Unless he gets severely injured we'll be able to trade him away for future assets. And if he gets severely injured...some of those Nets assets can be combined with him to move him out. If we move away Wood, EGo, others into other team's cap space before the moratorium, and create more than max cap space to work with it will create a ton of pressure on the Nets. They'll have to give him a big money long term deal or possibly watch him walk.
They also built by far the best team in the league last season, but bad injury luck prevented them from winning the title in what likely would have been a 16-1 type run
There’s no dumb vax rule in Texas so he will show up and show out. If you don’t have to give up #3/JG/Josh/ or Sengun I say go for it
So what’s his excuse for playing in 60, 67, 20, and 54 games in the 4 seasons prior? There was no vax rule those years.
If we get Kyrie we would win more than 34 games. Irving Green Banchero Sengun Wood KPJ Tate KMJ Christopher Gordon ……wins 40+ games easy.
The dude thinks the earth is flat... FLAT! Look i prefer high character, good IQ, good work ethic players. I'll settle for maybe somebody that needs some motivation... or maybe isnt the brightest bulb... but i draw the line at crazy. lol
How? you would have zero defense. Kyrie isnt a lebron or a jokic where you can put a bunch of garbage around them and win a ton of games, partly because he himself isn't exactly going to play 82
I’m not saying Kyrie is the answer nor do I want him necessarily but if he’s healthy and he plays 80+% of the games I think he can add +20 win games. Take for example the CP3 lead Thunder. They were projected to be one of the worst teams in the league if not the worst around 20 win season. Instead he lead them to 44 wins and 5th place. The very next year he left and OKC finished with 22 wins. With our natural improvement and us not purposely tanking games we could absolutely add 20. One other thing… I know there’s some mofos in here that would GLADLY welcome back an overweight, out of shape, potentially washed up, older James Harden coming off his worst year with the hopes and real belief that he would lead us back to the playoffs but ya’ll are adamant Kyrie could never work right?
That’s my thought as well, 35-40 wins and a first round exit, that’s if he’s engaged. Then he walks in FA.
The bench I have listed is pretty impressive defensively and three 6-10 athletic guys in the starting lineup just needs a real coach to get them to be adaquate defensively. Look….Silas is the worst coach in the league next to Mike Brown and he admits that he has not focused at all on defense. We definitely have the athletism to be elite defensively…..just need the right coach.
If we get Kyrie we just got the best pg in basketball. We put up with KPJ’s antics which include strip clubs, abusive behavior, addiction, etc. but all of a sudden Kyrie will ruin the team chemistry….gimme a frickin break!!!!!
