There is a real possibility that Paolo is going to make a lot of experts and draft boards look BAD in a couple years and I hope him slimming down is just the beginning. He’s motivated. He thinks he should be the number 1 pick and he’s getting dismissed from the conversation.
LOL @ Dejounta Murray being pigeon holed as a "slasher". Paolo Banchero is much more than a "post scorer" and the author is really all over the place with his hot takes. How can Jabari Smith be a shot creator when all he can really do is take 2 dribbles and pull up for a contested shot?
Identifying Banchero as post scorer was hilarious. Secondary playmaker, yes. Shot creator, yes. Post scorer????
I mean... This whole thread started with Banchero vs. Ivy. Anyone who really believes in Paolo has had to argue their position from the consensus 3rd spot and at the time it was literally between the 3rd and 4th pick. It's not as if this hadn't been drilled into peoples minds and something that has lead to a constant cognitive dissonance. At that time, not even a few weeks ago, Paolo was the same player as Şengün. The same athlete, same lateral quickness as Sengun, they both just score in the post and oh did I mention, their ability to shoot will pretty much be the same Meanwhile, Jabari is now a shot creator from day 1. I like the Grant comparison for his future but he's not a shot creator day one. Paolo could be easily.
Main issue I had was him being to big to be a SF when he compared himself to them, but I see it now. Also purple gym makes me think he had a work out with the kings and that why there's rumors of them trying to jump up to #2 before we can get him.
If we could just wait until AFTER the draft to start to pro-Paolo propaganda on Twitter that would be fantastic.
He shouldn't have started shedding the weight so fast. If he wants Rockets, he should have fat suited it like James Harden.
