This ended up being a lot closer than expected when he entered the draft. Huge decision for UH and Sasser…. may end up being one of the 3 not productive scorers in college basketball.
Are we not so ****ing stacked this coming season!?!?! I 90% thought Sasser was gone but I think he was tempted by how much talent was already going to be on the team. Wow.
ramey isn't an option. He isn't coming here for spot minutes and the interest only came from the scenario of sasser leaving and him being able to play next to Shead. He's going where there's a starting spot available
UH is still trying to get a transfer, a capable frontcourt rotational player but at this point, everyone is thrilled with the depth of the roster and Kelvin can go back to his usual deep rotations, baring injuries of course. There were a few bigs they had on campus visits but all ended up taking offers elsewhere with larger roles. If anything shakes loose they'll look into it but for now the plan is to get everyone back soon for the usual summer sessions of prep
Sasser'd be damn near a lottery pick if not for that injury, but the kid is right, he has nowhere to go but up. Good for him. A wise choice that will pay dividends. This squad is looking scary.
https://digital.olivesoftware.com/olive/odn/houstonchronicle/default.aspx UH will feature a back-court that includes Sasser, Mark, Jamal Shead, Ramon Walker Jr., incoming freshman Terrance Arceneaux and Texas Tech transfer Mylik Wilson. The Cougars also return key frontcourt contributors Reggie Chaney and J’Wan Roberts and will welcome five-star power forward Jarace Walker. ...and I'm OK with that! Brutal back court!
