Ideally I'd like the Rox to get 2 guys in the lotto and still keep the 17th pick, I'm also on the Eason hype train. At 17th I'm now dead set on Jalen Williams. That dude is the pg we need and tbh I think he's a sleeper at 17th. If we miss on everyone Kendall Brown is my worst case pick.
Ok, so I think Givony is intentionally trying to stoke the Rockets fan base with his 2.0 Mock Draft today. What possible interest could the Rockets have here? After all, we've got Daishen Nix. Eason to Chicago at #18. Give me a break.
Prediction: Tari gone at 17. Instead of trading up, Houston trades 17 for 20 and 25 from Spurs, who draft Jovic and Marjon for the Rockets.
I think he tries, he has great feet to mirror on D. But he gets knocked off his spots too easily. Not just on defense. On offense as well. Like Chet, he is skinny. But not nearly as physical or mentally tough.
He floats a lot. As I've said a few times elsewhere, it could just be that he played in an overly physical league, and (like a lot of young guys) floated away from the contact a little bit. For me he is not playing in an NBA rotation prior to the all-star break unless he works super hard on being physical in training camp and pre-season. Most of the season in GLeague or something... But his size and skillset are so intriguing. Just like Patrick Baldwin - so interested to see if either guy pans out
6'7.25 Dalen Terry and 6'7.5 Dyson Daniels are so similar in size and game style (playmaking 2 way players) I'm shocked that one is lottery pick while the other is middle to lower first round pick. Daniels is slightly better scorer and defender but Terry is more efficient and better from 3P. Terry is a strong possibility at #17 if Eason not available. Only 6'7 but Terry has slightly greater wingspan than Banchero (7'0.5 vs 7'0.75). https://www.tankathon.com/players/compare?players=dyson-daniels--dalen-terry
The vibe I get is that people believe in Dyson's improvements in shooting. If a team believes in Dyson's shooting, he's a guy that can defend, play make, shoot, and score. That type of player goes high in the draft.
The more I see of Jalen Williams the more I want him. Efficiency matters! His stats are eye popping. If we end up with Banchero, he’d be amazing next to Green as a guy who can do a bit of everything. Elite off ball shooter, can playmake, rebounds well for his size, can create his own shot. Uber efficient attacking the basket. 40% 3 point shooter and 97th percentile on spot ups. Great pick and roll potential. He was absolutely abusing teams that went under screens this year. He has potential to be elite at defense, especially against point guards and would be solid guarding 1-3. People salivating over Jabari scoring 17ppg on 42% shooting. This guy had 18 4 and 4 on 51% shooting for a guard with size and an absurd 7’2 wingspan. He dominated the combine scrimmage too. Obviously very smart kid. I smell a lotto pick. His game reminds me of a poor man’s James Harden on offense. Please please please Stone.
Yes there is no reason to trade up for Eason Tari Eason Jalen Williams Jeremy Sochan Ousmane Dieng Marjon Beauchamp Dalen Terry atleast 2 will fall maybe more. This draft has a lot of these lengthy guys
