Unlikely he is better in all of above including scoring.

KPJ is 2nd best 3P self generator in NBA and best 3P catch and shoot in NBA right now.

I think Ivey will be more consistent as a pro than KPJ. Coaches will know what they're getting with him: a two-way player, strong flashes of scoring, consistent (if not outstanding) defensive presence, and a player who can create mismatches, especially in transition.

I hear you. Not sure I see a two-way player but he certainly can develop into one. Rookie scale contract and no attitude issues has to be a consideration. But to me it’s unclear if he’ll be better than KPJ.

I'm sure you never did anything immature when you were 20 years old.

So dumb to focus in on one event or situation and then see only that. KPJ seems to be well-liked by his teammates and coaches so I'm pretty sure this stuff is a non-issue in the locker room.

    But you do you though

its not dumb actually. The stuff hes done is dumb though.

The excuse of you never did anything immature at 20 is also dumb. Is that why you hear all the 20 year olds in the league having the same problem. No. ok. next. As if it this notion makes it just fine and ok. Nah it doesn't

No, it's dumb to just throw that out there as if it were the only defining characteristic of a player. If he's learned from it and grown as a result, then it's actually part of the maturation process, not an indication of perpetual immaturity.

I'm not saying it's fine or excusing it, I'm just putting it where it belongs in a larger context. I'm not saying it's something every 20 year old does, either. I'm saying it is foolish to take a 20 year old kid with a difficult childhood and expect him to be a finished product in terms of being a man.

sadly it’s not just one event. But I agree he’s worth continuing to run with.

not really. I threw it out there cause its funny. I didn't need to add other stuff cause its not impressive either. The point is setting the bar with kpj was pretty sad.

The locker tantrum was one event and didn't even happen here. With us, there was the argument at halftime with the coaching staff. He was benched for the game and left the arena, came back and apologized. Just one event, seems like water under the bridge for all involved at this point, no big deal.

Look at Jimmy Butlers argument with Spo this season. If that were KPJ y'all would be trying to run the kid out of town. These guys are competitive, sometimes things get a bit heated.

Setting the bar with a guy that dropped 50 and 10 on Jrue Holiday is not sad, and the fact that you think it is only shows how much your perspective is skewed by your opinion of off-court stuff

i always laugh when folks bring that game up. it's gimmicks like that that keep casuals holding onto the false hope

should i bring up brewer dropping 50 also or nah? will ivey be better than brewer. we're at the 50 point barometer right. Or how about Saddiq Bey. he dropped 51!

Brewer feasted in the fast break that game and didn't do his damage against a first team all-defense player like Holiday. Also neither of these dudes put up 10 assists too. Youngest player in NBA history to drop 50/10.

But regardless, it wouldn't be sad if a young wing prospect were compared to a player like Bey either.

so holiday was not responsible for all 50 points right. completely 1 vs 1 all game long. its actually pretty sad when the bar is that low

Not to take away from the accomplishment because it was awesome. You have to consider KPJ was on fire from 3 that game and Holiday might have been somewhat coasting because it was right before the playoffs and they were playing the worst team in the league.

That game showcased his potential but no one should factor a single game when making long term personnel decisions. What is the consistency of his body of work, both on court and locker room.
