We need better prospect not more prospect. I rather trade up from #17. Unless FO don't like any of the top 3 and they know they can get their target with lower pick. Similar to Boston Tatum case. All sign point to we are keeping the pick and draft Banchero.

the only way I trade down from 3 is if I get an unprotected pick next year from a guaranteed bottom 5 team. I think next year's top 5 is stronger than this year's top 3. that would be worth it if we can afford to be patient. however I don't think anyone would make us that offer. we will keep the pick and take one of the big 3 this year.

we can afford to move up from 17 though. I think 17-35 is a lower tier than the guys we can get at 6-16. maybe someone falls to us, but its likely that we will have to move up to get someone we want. I think there are teams that will be open to moving down for more immediate help, like WAS, NYK, CHA, and CLE.

There is no such thing is guaranteed bottom 5 team. Unless we do some kind of trade like we will only get the pick if it's top 5. The team with the highest chance for being bottom 5 is ... well ... Rockets.

The idea is you cant really say who is the better prospect. They all have case to be the best prospect in this draft.

Duren just turned 18 and looks like Dwight Howard with a mid range jumper. Sochan has shades of Giannis and Eason has shades of Kawhi.

You are betting at least one of these 3 break out over just betting everything on Banchero.

Giannis wasnt Giannis when he was just 18.

    Giannis
    -Extremely Athletic
    -Went all out on D
-has great playmaking and ball handling

    Barnes
    -Extremely Athletic
    -Went all out on D
-has good playmaking and ball handling

    Sochan
    -Athletic
    -Went all out on D
-has good playmaking and ball handling

Sochan is the Scottie Barnes/Giannis of this draft. Not sure if he will resch Giannis' level but will def be a very productive PF in the NBA.

Giannis is Giannis, there is no one like him. Barnes is like Draymond Green, can do it all but not good at shooting. Sochan is more like Jeff Green to me.

This gives me hope that Magic are not looking for defense, they don't need it in their frontcourt with Carter and Isaac being super productive.

Playmaking + size or elite shooting + size should be their options.

    Interesting.

LOL @ posters who believe that teams are not leaking their boards or showing their preferences.

Preparing myself for anyone at #3.

Banchero - 6'10 powerful playmaker with upside as plus scorer and/or perimeter defender.

Ivey - explosive first step and lightning in transition with improving 3P and upside as 2 way player.

Smith - elite 3P shooter in 6'10 frame and upside as elite switchable defender.

Holmgren - advanced stats unicorn 7 foot defender with elite length and ultra efficient offensively with upside to add more size and physicality.

Would this have applied last year with the #2 pick? There was no guarantee that Green or Mobley would be top prospect. Should have traded down for three prospects instead of one?
