I know my money currently is not going as far as it was and I assume others are having the same problem. What changes are you making?

I was saving for a vacation but now that money will most likely go to property tax and insurance. Maybe a weekend in San Antonio, but nothing big.

I've cut back on buying sweets no ice cream or going to the donuts shop. I still buy the cheaper cookies to get my sugar fix.

Xerobull was thinking of buying a helicopter but now is dreaming of hanging around a trailer park.

    It's rough out there.

Have you tried selling your used hair gels? Inflation has them going for like 7 bucks a pop now.

I used to work in a pharmacy in Bellaire where an old man named Jack used to work as a volunteer. Jack must've been in his 80's at least by then. He was kind of slow-moving and putting stuff in the wrong place, but I loved the old dude. He used to tell us how he used to eat rat tamales because they were so broke. He said they used the tails for handles like a corndog. We never knew if he was joking or not. It wasn't until after he passed away, most of us found out he was a retired diamond broker or something. lol. Still, times were pretty damn rough back then. The stuff we're going through now is nothing in comparison.

well smart ass I'm actually curious how others are handling this. I would put it in a different forum but its not a political question and I don't need a bunch of dumb asses telling me whose fault it is, but thanks for the reply.

Like that's ever an issue at that hour. It's still inappropriate.

    • If you're struggling to make ends meet, there's never been a better time to get a better paying job. You can make six figures driving a truck

    • Go on a diet. This will save you $ you would normally spend on fast food

    • Take daily 1 hour walks

    • Play some old video games for fun

    • Join an amateur sports league. Houston is a hotbed for Rugby, which is awesome, takes old farts and even has groupies

    • 'Vacation' somewhere you can drive in a day that's free, like a park or the beach. Or just get drunk at one of the few remaining popular malls like The Galleria or Baybrook.

    • Masturbate more

    • Start an online business. It's what I did when I ran out of internet at my day job when I was pigeonholed into a single thing to do that was waiting on funding. Your time is your ultimate worth

I've been eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches with a side of nuts ( pecans, walnuts, macadamias) and a banana with almond milk for lunch for the past few weeks and I kinda like it. Quick prep time and high in calories. I need about 3,200 calories to maintain my 6', 175lb frame. I have to eat alot and I'm tired of paying $12 to $15 for lunch. I've noticed the change in my bank account since I switched to PB&J sandwiches.
