Ivey is the only alternative to Banchero. I like him. Holmes and Ivey is possible for Paolo in my opinion.

Paul George is far superior to Shane Battier.

None of those players have done jack so far to make me think they'll be better than who we can potentially pick at 3. Rui has potential but what was up with that disappearing act for half the season?

Yea I really need that pick to be like 2025 or 2026 unprotected, preferably the latter because by that time whoever they drafted 3rd this year would most likely be on another team.

Would anyone want to swap the 3rd pick for the 5th and 7th?

    How about 3 + 17 for 1 or 2?

I won't do it. This year any of the top 3 can go first. If you can get potential first pick with #3 pick why give more? Especially when they all play the same position.

Depend. If Ivey and Murray are both available at 5th and 7th, then I'll do it.

@Easy great question you had so I dug up the past drafts and see, in hindsight, if I would make that trade

    2021:
    1st: Cunningham
    2nd: Green
    3rd: Mobley
    17th: Trey Murphy

Most likely yes, for either the 1st or 2nd.

    2020:
    1st: Edwards
    2nd: Wiseman
    3rd: Ball
    17th: Pokusevski

Yes for the 1st; no for the 2nd

    2019:
    1st: Williamson
    2nd: Morant
    3rd: Barrett
    17th: Alexander-Walker

Yes for either 1st or 2nd

    2018:
    1st: Ayton
    2nd: Bagley
    3rd: Doncic
    17th: DiVincenzo

    Nope

    2017:
    1st: Fultz
    2nd: Ball
    3rd: Tatum
    17th: Wilson

    Nope

    2016:
    1st: Simmons
    2nd: Ingram
    3rd: Brown
    17th: Baldwin

    I wouldn't but that's because I'm a Jaylen Brown stan

    2015:
    1st: KAT
    2nd: Russell
    3rd: Okafor
    17th: Vaughn

    Yes for KAT...or even DeAngelo

    2014:
    1st: Wiggins
    2nd: Parker
    3rd: Embiid
    17th: Young

    No

Nobody know the future. This year #3 is as good as #1. I'm staying at #3.

    @steddinotayto @MaxRider

The reason I asked was because I am more and more convinced that Jabari Smith would be my first choice in this draft. He provides the two things we need for our front line: switchable defense and 3p shooting and IMO has the lowest bust potential among the top 3.

Now, if we are sure that Chet and Jabari will go 1 and 2, then I am willing to give up #17 to make sure we get Jabari.

If you look at the 17th pick thread, people are looking for a guy who can pluck the anticipated duplicate weaknesses of Paolo and Sengun. And it seems that it's a tall task because all those guys will likely be gone at 17. If we get Jabari, we don't really need a lower pick to fix the weaknesses.
