Putting up pts at an efficient rate is one of the best things you can do duh. The whole point of the game is to score more than the opponent. Add his defense on top of that he is an elite 2 way player. If his impact is so bad why is GSW on the way to Finals this year when they didnt even make the playoffs last year with majority of the same cast? He is a 5x time all star and the 2nd most important member of GSW you act like he is a role player. Impact metrics are nice but they need to be juxtaposed with real stats so you dont lose perspective. I dont know what "impact metric" you are looking at but you dumb if you think 19.5 pts on 57% TS is nothing.
There’s a different between “is nothing” and “is a hall of famer”. He’s a good player, solid starter, but that gap is miles away from being a deserving hall of famer. Who are some players you view to be his equals over the past say 20 years, i’ll look at some numbers
Funny. Played one game on a floor that I reckon was over polished, or something, it was like ice skates in patches. And it's tough. You have to play slow. You have no confidence to do anything. Curry's career may come to an end tonight. Karma is in the house.
Manu Ginobili is a 13 ppg scorer at 25 mins a night. Pretty sure Klay's 19 ppg along with solid defense (Manu is a def liability) is better than that right? Grant Hill? 16 ppg on 31% 3pt shooting and 55% TS. Also is a worse defender than Klay. Hasnt been a main player on a champ team even once. Toni Kukoc 11 ppg on 33% 3 pt shooting and only 53% TS. Also is not known for defense unlike Klay. Klay played with Steph but Kukoc played with both MJ and Pippen so that aint an excuse.
Nah, Dallas going ice cold so that the Warriors can breeze into the finals. The Bball Gods LOVE and ADORE and ADMIRE the Warriors.
Karma fo what? Curry has never ended the careers of other players or dome anything considered remotely foul or dirty on the level of Draymond or Pacheapshot. The only thing he has done to warrant karma is annoy the non-GSW fanbase cuz he is always winning. Karma is a concept of equivalence. If you litter on the sidewalk and suddenly you get run over and become a paraplegic that aint karma wtf.
someone already showed you how manu's numbers dwarf klay, hill was at 100 win shares 43.6 VROP vs klay 48.5/14.9, and hill's peak was WAY higher then klays he just got injured. Kukoc being in is stupid as well but even he's at 60/27 plus the international stuff
Manus winshares nos dwarf Klay simply because he hss played more years than Klay and the Spurs won a ton of games during that span. Thats how win shares work. If you look at Manu's peak win share season when he recorded 11 win shares, that was the year he scored 16 ppg lol. So 16 ppg is better than Klay's average 19.5? Only because Spurs won more games that season. On a game by game basis Klay's nos almost double Manu's and it's dumb to say you'd rather have Manu over Klay in a typical game. Klay at his peak scored like 37 pts or something so if you wanna use peak as the argument then obv peak Klay destroys Manu and Kukoc right? I can look up other players who are inferior to Klay Thompson in the HOF but it looks like you just find some arbitrary reason why they should be included like Grant Hill is injured? Since when was getting injured an excuse? Klay himself just getting back from season ending injury so he should also get a pass right?
hill's stats are light years above klay, they just aren't close. Manu's per game stats also completely dwarf klay as well, the ws/48 (to take away the advantage of playing more games) is .190 to .110, and if you look at the career ratings manu's teams put up 112/100 and klay 109/108 (if you wanna argue klay played with bad teammates i guess you could try, but curry and green both have excellent ratings)
Not accurate. Win Shares Per 48 Manu : .190 (33rd all time) Klay : .110 (outside top 250 all time) Manu’s impact per minute dwarfs Klay. It’s not just about longevity. These are both guys who played similar roles as 2nd/3rd bananas on all time great teams. Despite what the traditional box score numbers might have you believe, Manu was in another stratosphere as far as winning impact goes.
In what way? He aint a volume scorer and he aint a good defender so how does his impact dwarf Klay? Spurs had limited talent and full of defensive guys so a potent offensive talent like Manu was critical for them and had a lot of impact. But if they had Klay instead of Manu then Klay's win shares would be higher than Manu cuz he is just a better player. You cant blindly look at advanced stats you need to juxtapose them eith the reality of the situation. The advanced stats said old JKidd was the 2nd best player in thr NBA at point does thst make any sense? Spurs got a lot of wins and as the 3rd best player on the Spurs yeah Manu would get a lot of win shares dont you think? But we are evaluating Manu and Klay in a vacuum objectively Klay does more its just that GSW needs him less than Spurs needed Manu cuz GSW has a lot of good 2 way players starting with Wiggins and Curry himself is one of the best offensive players ever. Manu cant even play extended minutes per game he just on the court for 25 mins or less how d hell is he supposed to be better than Klay who is pretty much a 20 ppg scorer every night and also defends the other team's best player. If they played 1 on 1 Klay would dominate him on both sides of the ball. Win shares is a team dependent metric cant believe you are using it to say Manu is better than Klay smh. The only thing win shares do is tell you which team member contributed most to winning their games. Comparing players from diff teams is already not an apple to apples comparison since each team will have different win share base. For example Nando de Colo has double of Jalen Green's win shares does that mean Nando is a much better player than Jalen? Lol! Nando is a 3 ppg scorer btw,but his impact is double of Jalen Green's? Gimme a break!
