Should students be disciplined for saying racially-insensitive things outside a school setting that ends up being shared online? It's not clear from the posted article if the photo was from a school-related event or not.
This doesn't prove anything, but this Broncos player indicated it was taken at HOMS, which is the middle school. Denver Broncos safety Justin Simmons also spoke out against the photo on Twitter, saying he will not be doing anything for the school until disciplinary action is taken against the students. "This disturbing picture was sent to me from a friend. This picture was taken at HOMS where I used to compete when I attended another middle school down the road," Simmons tweeted
In the original article I didn't see the names, pics or even the pic in question of the students posted. That would mean it would be even harder for the already small chance that a post on Clutchfans would affect the futures of those students. All of that said I hope this doesn't mean that these students are expelled. This should be a chance to educate them and others about why stunts like these are hurtful and hope that they learn from it.
