Not a cover...but a recreation of the original Head Over Heels video from Tears For Fears. It's the same library where the original was recorded...but done by theology students at Emmanuel College in Toronto. Not a scene for scene recreation...but pretty cool homage nonetheless. https://globalnews.ca/news/1915971/...ars-video-shot-30-years-ago-in-their-library/ Original...
I just watched the "Spiderhead" Trailer, which features a song by Rotary Connection (I am the Black Gold of The Sun, which is a spectacle of a song). I've always had a fascination with this Cream song, as it is so weirdly and simply constructed and such atypical subject matter for a popular song. I think this version benefits from an extra layer of 60s psychedelic weirdness. Just a couple of minor little stylistic tweaks, and "professional" singers. I would say I'm kind of transfixed by Rotary Connection more so than liking them, but I like their version of this song. The original for comparison:
Fans of Bob Dylan will appreciate this long thread about Dylan covers https://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2022/05/not-dark-yet-contd-6.php
and I thank Scott Johnson in Mennesota for the list. One of my fav versions of All Along The Watchtower RIP Michael Hedges (who's left us too soon)
There is/was a game show in the UK where the contestants had to guess what song he was doing. They'd have earphones on where they couldn't hear the music and had to go with his interpretation.
Amongst the other awesome instruments, I really want Robbie Robertson's guitar. A-hole that he is. Did you see the Zeppelin one? Whoa. I've posted it about 7 times because it's that ****ing cool.
