I had never heard of Tiffany Haddish, but I watched the opening monologue and she reminded me of a female Kevin Hart. So I turned it off and didn't bother, I found it unbearable.
I like the Trump skits but not much else. You know it's bad when the first skit out of the gate last night was that gaming contest skit. That's their best skit for the night to go first? Bah! Or, should I say...Bah-d! This whole season so far has been weak in my book.
Yea...it's mainly the skits I'm referring to. But, yea, tuning in nowadays is to see the opening, any President skits with Alec Baldwin, Weekend Update, and maybe some of the music. It does hit on some levels.
Sorry...probably unpopular opinion...but a relatively unfunny show is about to...stay unfunny. I love Weekend Update with Jost and Che...other than that, SNL is below the Mendoza Line for funny skits per week. Pete Davidson, Kate McKinnon, Aidy Bryant, Kyle Mooney Expected to Exit ‘SNL’ https://variety.com/2022/tv/news/pete-davidson-leave-saturday-night-live-1235273489/
I haven't watched in maybe a year, but I don't remember Davidson being in many skits and when he was, he was just kinda... there. But yeah we only pay attention to Weekend Update.
pete davidson wasn't and isn't funny. good that's he's leaving. the show should overhaul its talents fr (writers included). maybe bring conan in, since he's out of a late-night job
The younger generation loves Pete, that's all you need to know. It's a generational thing. Do I drop dead laughing, no, but when an entire nation of kids love him, it's important to know that they see something we don't see, he tapping into something big, so gotta get on board.
