Yea but that's not a Mike Brown problem that's a Kings problem. The best coach in the world couldn't do anything with that roster.

In the wake of the Kings’ decision to hire Mike Brown on May 8, there’s this relevant component that could make the internal dynamics interesting down the line: The new head coach has a significantly longer deal than the general manager who played a pivotal part in his hiring. Though Brown signed a four-year deal, sources say Kings GM Monte McNair is entering the final season of his contract and there have been no talks about a possible extension. No matter how you look at it, that means there’s significant pressure on McNair as the Kings try — yet again — to break the league-long playoff drought that has become the bane of their existence.Sources say McNair’s status was a focal point for many of the coaching candidates during the process, with some having concerns about the lack of contractual commitment to the front office and what it might mean for their (would-be) partnership. McNair, who was a Houston Rockets assistant GM previously, was hired to replace the departed Vlade Divac in mid-September 2020.

Mark Jackson is amazing at X's and O's, but there is a reason he has been black balled and no one will touch him.

He was missing practices to preach in LA.

He was asking his players to join his church and to donate to his church.

He was involved in an extortion attempt against him from a stripper he was cheating on his wife with. The FBI got involved.

There are naked pics of Jackson cheating on his wife out there.

He said that he would not allow any homosexuals in his locker room.

He would tell his players that other teammates were specifically rooting against them and should be shunned.

Former assistants under Mark Jackson have called him toxic. He went as far as to fire one coach in front of the whole team.

He went out of his way to prevent Jerry West from watching practices.

Jackson also doesn't believe in analytics.

You have to deal with this sort of **** too.

So what it comes down to is that anyone hiring Mark Jackson has an INCREDIBLE amount of baggage to deal with - which is too bad because he is someone that can inspire players and knows the game.

All types of crazy or hard to deal with people have been given 2nd chances. Mark Jackson is still the same person he was almost 10 years ago? He’s had no growth?

When Golden State Warriors assistant coach Darren Erman was fired earlier this month, the reason given was a "violation of company policy."

It turns out that Erman's violation was secretly recording conversations between the team's coaches and players, according to sources with knowledge of the situation.

Sources said Erman, who was coach Mark Jackson's second assistant, would record coaches' meetings, meetings between the coaches and players, and informal discussions among coaches that took place in the team's coaches room -- all without the participants' knowledge.

"He was taping everything," one source said. "Taping pregame speeches wouldn't have been that bad, but he was taping guys just sitting around talking in the coaches' office."

Sometimes Erman would be present during the tapings. Other times, he would leave the room and leave his phone behind to record conversations the other coaches were having.

looks like Mark Jackson wasn’t the only one who was toxic there…couldn’t even trust his own staff

Cannot believe that Kenny Atkinson hasn’t had a HC job since Brooklyn.

Agree, I think he would definitely be a good coach for this team, and he’s the best candidate available for all openings. Realy glad he stepped down AFTER the Lakers finished their search.
