Is this the mind-reading you were talking about?

I don't see any mind-reading here, just one author's opinion

So when is it having an opinion on what someone thinks vs mindreading?

    Need a ruling.

I don't see this author specifying an individual whose mind is being read. Do you? Mind reading implies a specific mind being read. You are trying to twist my words into a comment applying to this author generalizing about all Libs on the left. Big difference. ;)

unless you're saying the Left has a libby unimind . . . in which case I pretty much agree with you. :p

He's trying to explain why the left hates Musk. I didn't even know the left hates Musk, so I was curious how he knew what the left thinks. You were talking about all the mindreading going on before, so I just thought you were posting example, that's all. ;)

seemed to be me folks in this thread were claiming to read Musk's mind . . . which is different than trying to generalize about the thoughts, attitudes, or beliefs of a population-level group of people

Oh I didn't see anyone claim to read Musk's mind but I think I follow you: you can't read an individual's mind, but you can read the collective minds of a group of people you don't like and want to denigrate?

one can generalize about a population. That is not reading their "collective minds" . . . don't be silly.

@Os Trigonum it always looks to me like you are talking to yourself. I don't even have to click on "Show ignored content" to know who is making you waste your time...

It's pretty silly to say the left hates Elon Musk, don' you think?

not these days it isn't. He went from being Elon Musk, Superhero-Who-Invented-Tesla™ to Republican Trump-Wannabe-the-Equal-of-Satan™ in like two month's time

I think you have the same kind of fun with these conversations that I try to have. And that's not even reading your mind, that's just an inference on my part.

I admit there are some people who seem to have issues with him. I don't get why he was a target for the billionaires tax. But I don't think people "hated" him the way they hated DJT at least.

There are things I don't like about Musk, I think he should own up to some of his poor labor practices and issues at his plants. I don't think he is a awful human being, but I don't think he is a hero. I think he's just a really talented entrepreneur who has had incredible success. But it's clear that has his fame has grown, he's taking some criticism, and he hasn't handled that criticism with much grace.

I honestly don't follow him that closely. When I need Elon news, I rely on @tinman

Even though we disagree a lot I think we do have similar styles and honestly I've learned a lot from you in how you debate things. It would be fun to have a beer someday.
