The issue is, Paolo isn’t a gifted athlete. He’s a solid athlete. If he was elite, he would be the undoubted top pick in the draft and could actually compare him to a Lebron
Banchero will more than likely max out about a 36% 3 pt shooter. Alp shot 36% for a portion of the season last year.
So an 18yr old has already pretty much reached his shooting potential before even playing his first NBA game. Meanwhile a guy who has hit the backboard or air balled multiple times on open 3’s this year will somehow make that significant of a jump in that same time frame. Got it.
His form looks better, Alp has a year of coaching with an NBA team under his belt and Banchero is STILL the better shooter right now. Make it make sense?
19 yr old. You realize they’re the exact same age right? What I’m saying is, is neither will be elite shooters. Average shooting splits with good all around play will be their calling cards.
You can post whatever you want, Paolo isn’t an elite leaper or explosive athlete. He is a solid NBA athlete. Same as Sengun. Neither of them are going to be winning dunk contests
Lol, I literally posted a pic of Banchero’s head near the rim, and you just have a video of Sengun dunking a bunch without his head coming anywhere near Banchero’s. Keep digging your hole, my guy.
Jason Tatum shot about the same for Duke. And his shooting upside was definitely capped there! Your 36% for Sengun would have to be on open three point attempts which is already what Bancharo shoots off catch and shoot. You are basically trying to convince us he has no room for improvement without even playing a game. You’d also be thrilled if Sengun ever shot a percentage that Banchero currently shoots and who knows if that even ever happens. It’s speculation. Meanwhile a guy actually already reached that threshold and he’s bad at shooting and will never improve. Just remarkable.
There isn’t much difference in lift there. Negligible. I’m not saying Paolo isn’t a slightly better athlete. I’m saying they’re both in the solid NBA athlete range. Neither are overly explosive but not poor athletes
Banchero has more than adequate vertical pop if he has time to gather. I would give edge to Banchero over Sengun regarding athleticism but Sengun is the better finisher due to his IQ and footwork. Not too worried about athleticism and 3P%, the main concern is defensive upside.
Tatum shot 85% from the line. Sengun also had a better FT% than Banchero. Banchero would be beating the odds if he became a good shooter. 72% does not bode well.
College shooting stats don’t translate. He was a below average shooter in college. Is he better than Alp right now? Absolutely. But neither are going to be Ray Allen.
