Its really easy to find people who don't watch tape. Hello. Have fun watching Jabari Smith become Deandre Hunter.

No, I don't follow or care much about high school basketball so I admit to not seeing of him there outside of high school mixtapes lol.

I don't know man...best passer? That's kind of hard to imagine with Sengun on the team, but I do get your point. I do get your point though overall. I'm not down on Paolo at all, I know it seems like it because I admit I have him 3rd but that is more because of fit than anything. I think Jabari and Chet just fit the team better, but I'd be ecstatic to have Paolo, really I would.

We are really lucky to be drafting in the top 3 for two years straight. ESPECIALLY considering that the new draft lotto F's over one of the bad teams every year now.

We easily could have given OKC our pick last year and drafting 5th drooling over Ivey falling to us or something...the fact that we got Jalen Green, stole a gem in the draft in Sengun AND now get one of the better big prospects to (hopefully) play with Green for years is something we should be happy about.

One of these guys will fall to us guaranteed if we draft 3rd and if you told me at the start of the year we'll be adding Jabari, Chet, or Paolo, I'd be extremely happy about it.

I did make a post some pages back about how I could imagine a Paolo-Sengun-Green offense rolling through the league and then with so many smart scorers that can pass your defense would have to just be tolerable to become a dominant team and I'm not as worried about Paolo's defense as others either because that IS something that can be coached up.

    He seems to favor SF.

Trade Gordon, Wood, Tate and Wall for picks or at worst expiring contracts, though not sure how mere cap space will attract stars.
Take Sharpe so we can't help but tank more, no matter how hard we try. Who knows Sharpe could turn out to be a star and we can get another 1-8 lottery pick.

    Just kidding sort of.

    Agreed.

He should be perfect 4 and small ball 5.

But he favors the 3 and plays like it.

I do understand the strat but man...you better be careful when trading out of the top 3 in the NBA draft.

Imagine trading down when you could have just taken Luka Doncic, for instance? I wonder if the Hawks fans would rather have Luka or Trae Young And Cam Reddish.

I guess the point being...I think the point of drafting this high is getting a future HOF player, in this instance...I think you sit here in this spot and draft your player. Don't overthink it.

I don't follow NCAA enough so I have a question in regards to Paolo. Anyway he can play SF/PF position like Tatum in the NBA?

This 100% ... I think trading out of top 3 is very dangerous. We should not overthink and pick the leftover of the top 3.

Can he switch 3-5 is better question.

Going to struggle defending guards imo.

If Banchero is your player. Trading down has worked for a lot of teams over the years as they usually get compensated well and don't do it with a clear cut all-star.

There's no Lebron, Joel, etc this year. If you're going to trade down, this is the year to do it. Boston traded down and took Tatum, can you even remember who Philly got with the number one pick that year?

If the Rockets don't think PB is their guy, than it makes total sense to trade down. But if they do, then yeah, you stick with it.

It's not about overthinking it, just about making the most of the opportunity.

Perfectly reasonable. You are not proposing to draft Keegan Murray ahead of Paolo and that is all we can ask for. #3 is a good number. And yes, he would be the best passer on the team. Look at my posts from last year, I was hyping Sengun's passing more than anyone here. Coach K severely limited what Paolo could do and that role worked for college ball. He still came in and left as the #1 ranked player. I'm not sure what else he could do. I believe his high school tape will be much more indicative of who he is in the NBA. Otherwise we will be lead to think he is a face up traditional 4 like Carlos Boozer and that is just not who he is. The closest comparison I can think of would be Detroit Pistons Blake Griffin. If you get that in a 19 year old, you should probably take him. I think people watch his skill and think he is smaller than he is. The dude is 6'10 250 with that kind of skill at 19. Come on you guys seriously?

    What are you talking about?
I was comparing Paolo and Sengun.
And I will guarantee you haven’t watched more tape on any of the top 3 than I have.

3-D wing like 6'8 Tari Eason at #17.

Then trade EGo or Wood for Myles Turner.

Or trade either player for mid round FRP and draft Mark Williams.

Williams and Banchero already have chemistry together too.

Anyone can get hot for a few games.

Small sample size but if he's Rockets pick then I hope you're absolutely right.

Going to need +40% 3P so his preferred shot, the mid range, is wide open.

Is the top 3 not going to do any measurements or testing?
    That would be disappointing
