Hollinger and Deanondraft were both high on Barnes and Mobley last year. Hollinger has Paolo #2 and Dean has him #1 on their big board.
Nice article! I've never questioned Chet on defense he is as instinctual as you could get on that side - a savant if you will. My concerns have always laid at his ability to be an offensive fulcrum and not just a bit player or glue guy on one side of the court. He really isnt a "two way player" if all he's good at is shooting jumpers. If he doesnt include a basic dribble package then he will get crowded as a shooter and he will be turned one dimensional by the better defenders he's about to face. I like that he SAYS he can do it and WILL do it so I look forward to him erasing those doubts during this process and into his career wherever he lands. This writer is on the high side of projections and I can appreciate the passion. https://www.theringer.com/2022/5/17/23104780/chet-holmgren-nba-draft Some of this on a more consistent basis would solidify his place in the league, but even than as the writer notes he isnt some blazing KD type guy with his offensive moves. It can catch you off guard, but once teams scout your favorite move then what? Where are the counters? His bag is just limited as an offensive guy, but if he can AT LEAST do this type of stuff more than every blue moon it would really help him moving forward.
Givony dropping bombs on the combine measurements Shaedon Sharp 6'4 without shoes Mark Williams 9'9 standing reach
I'm very curious about Liddell's athletic measures dude was a beast defensively with that length!?! Smart player.
The wingspan is still there, most of it. =) For comp, Batum is 6'8 and has that same wingspan. Jaysum Tatum too. Is Chet's new weight available on that site?
I hope this settles the “Shaedon Sharp can play small forward” debate. Getting that #3 pick is looking better all the time.
One of my favorite players in the draft and continuously underrated because he’s a “tweener”. But he does everything well and absolutely can play small ball 4. My prediction is that San Antonio finds a way to draft him because he’s that kind of player. but looks like he’s actually 6’6” which is even more of a tweener than I thought. He’s still a first round pick though. He’s gonna have to continue to drop weight and convince teams he can play the 3
Murray is a 3/4. He had a super productive and efficient season. Good post scorer. Maybe a comp would be Pascal Siakam with less handles? A jack of all trades like Jeff Green?
