I had noticed that before. It's mostly a crutch to get him into rhythm and you see some version of that with a lot of younger guys. It's easily coached out of him if he isn't already working on it.
Its not bad thing in my opinion. Rhythm creation probably sure, but I think it just distracts a defender. "Watch my hands - not my feet" .. It helps accentuate Paolos superior footwork.
Makes me wonder. All the talk about "switchable" big men being this sexy new trend, but is it really? Understandably no one player can do it alone even Giannis who is the ultimate two way big man and who didnt have a healthy #2 to offset all the attention he got, but in the playoffs its like a completely different game evolving. You need these guys to get there, but in crunch time of do or die games they all can turn into liabilities on defense. Importance being placed on bucket getters. .
This is just not true, Kobe shot the Lakers out of the playoffs his rookie year by trying to do it all himself. Please show these articles saying Chet is the most assertive and aggressive personality in the lottery class. Anybody that watched college basketball can see Holmgren was very assertive or aggressive and mostly parked himself at the 3 point line.
Who is this dude? EJ Liddell could very well challenge for best defender in this draft when it's all over.
