I'm not sure he's not a "leader" or that there were better leaders already on the teams he joined.

But he does have that alpha mentality, in that he will out work you and give it his 1000% on both ends of the court every game.

Chet will not cheat you on effort or efficiency, extremely high IQ player to go along with his other intangibles.

Duren will not fall to 17 and he is not top 5 pick.

    Moot.

this was one of the better big board breakdowns I’ve seen. I don’t agree with everything, but they had some decent arguments for where they ranked guys. I was disappointed to see Eason outside the top 15, but if he can’t go to his left, that’s a fair knock. Most surprising to me was Hardy at #6. Someone we should all be taking a closer look at is Ty Ty Washington. I don’t want to see us take a guard in this draft unless it’s Ivey or Washington. We badly need that pure PG skill set and he’s a good shooter.

It was one person, me, not you guys. Yes, I like Duren’s overall defensive ability more than Banchero’s. I wasn’t suggesting that I would take Duren over Banchero. If we are picking at 5 I would love to trade down for Duren and Eason. If we are in the top 3, I would go Jabari, Chet, Banchero. I do not really want Ivey or Sharpe. Long defensive wings are what we need now and going forward. If Sengun develops a 3pt shot he is PF on offense and C on defense, Duren would be Center on offense and PF on defense. Unlike Banchero he will be able to get back to the paint and block shots after switching.

The Ringer still have Banchero #1 on their big board. They have Houston selecting Chet with the #1 pick.

This is promising, as he really made his mark on above the break threes (.411 on 141 attempts) and threes beyond 25 feet (.534 on 58 attempts).

If he can bring the corner three into his arsenal (he shot just .320 on 25 attempts), then that's big.

Didn't agree with all his takes either but I liked his analysis.

Hardy in top 10/lottery would be great for Rockets but not holding my breath on that one.

    Per KOC:

    #1 - CHET HOLMGREN

    BIG Gonzaga
    HOUSTON ROCKETS

Pairing Holmgren with Jalen Green would give the Rockets a chance at developing the NBA’s next great duo. Green is already blossoming as a shot creator. Holmgren could be his finisher as a lob threat who can also drain 3s and make plays off the dribble. Holmgren’s primary college role was to get Drew Timme the ball, but playing next to a rising star like Green could allow him to show more depth on offense. On defense, he’s like Rudy Gobert at 7 feet with both athleticism and awareness. Factor in the promising development of Alperen Sengun and Jae’Sean Tate, and the Rockets could have quite a bright future.

Massive shot blocker with guard-like skills on offense as a passer and shooter, though he needs to get significantly stronger to become the next great big.

If anyone is ridiculously projecting its you bud.

Banchero will improve his 3ball just because ... Banchero is not lazy on defense, his GOAT coach just sucks .... Banchero will improve his offensive efficiency because he's been working out publicly while Chet has been doing it privately.

Spoelstra will ride in to save Rockets because he is Filipino like Green ... I mean REALLY???

Not just BS projection but vile to boot.

    LOL

Lets just cling to low volume WCC efficiency metrics and assume they will translate to the NBA because .... TRUST ME BRO! :D:D:D

Its pretty sad to sit here with a straight face and say Chet couldnt be the player you think he is because of his coach. At least most of the other talked about prospects are working with great trainers and/or ex NBA guys identifying weaknesses and getting prepared.

    Chet is skipping rope.

Call it what you want - Whats next? Im a racist to boot? A liar, a gaslighter, and a racist? Because I dont align with your basketball views? REal stupid - and that coming from a guy who really thought highly of you from your non basketball takes around here. SMH.

Murray had as productive an offensive campaign as any prospect really.

His age, lack of elite athleticism and defense keeps him from being a top 3 guy, but he was INSANELY productive... normal stats, advanced stats, etc. They are all REALLY REALLY good.

But the other things matter, too, and sometimes these guys that can score and not necessarily do a ton else aren't exactly the most "impactful" players. Like in this scenario, long-term I'm not sure if I'd rather have Keegan Murray or Sochan... scouting is hard.
