Of course. The 4 year business degree teaches you that it's a good thing to pay auto loans. Nobody could gain that knowledge without one.

It will be interesting to see how or if this sentiment changes after the Roe v Wade change

The release of this draft might be the issue that greatly improves Democrats odds in the midterms especially if the timing is released in June and states automatically start enacting laws. The Democrats already have a large gender edge and this issue will energize suburban women who may not have planned on turning out to vote in the Midterms.

At the minimum it will give struggling democratic candidates something to talk about rather than inflation.

Agreed. Bad for America, great for Democrats.

Even before todays news while the odds were against the Democrats holding Congress I don’t think it was a guarantee that they would. I think the Senate was still far more competitive and if I had to bet I would bet that Kelly and Warwick would hold their seats.

Also even without this ruling there still was the danger of GOP overreach and the lurch rightward to more of the party of MtG and Trump doesn’t play well with swing voters. With candidates like Vance and Walker the reasoning is that they get the base excited and with problems with inflation and crime many Democrat and moderate voters stay home. The Republicans aren’t trying to win any swing voters but just count on depressed turnout.

What could happen now though is that many of those voters don’t stay at home so while the Republican base still turns out so does the Democratic base and enough moderates turn out to swing things.

Carville: People think Dems will sit around post-Roe talking about pronouns and veganism -- and they're sort of right

    https://hotair.com/allahpundit/2022...and-veganism-and-theyre-sort-of-right-n467548

    excerpt:

Carville occupies a weird niche in politics in that he’s a Democrat to the core but hates the left almost as much as righties do.

To which I suppose progressives would say, “That’s not a weird niche, that’s like 98 percent of the Democratic establishment.”

Archbishop bars Pelosi from communion over support for abortion rights

The Archbishop of San Francisco barred Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) from receiving communion over her support for abortion rights and access.

Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone said in a letter to Pelosi on Thursday that he had requested to speak to her after she vowed to codify Roe v. Wade, the landmark abortion rights case, in the wake of Texas banning abortions after six weeks last September. He had warned Pelosi in an April 7 letter, he said, to either repudiate advocacy for abortion rights or to refrain from referring to her Catholic faith in public or else he would have no choice but to bar her from being admitted communion.

“As you have not publically repudiated your position on abortion, and continue to refer to your Catholic faith in justifying your position and to receive Holy Communion, that time has now come,” Cordileone said in the Thursday letter. “Therefore, in light of my responsibility as the Archbishop of San Francisco to be ‘concerned for all the Christian faithful entrusted to [my] care’ (Code of Canon Law, can. 383, §1), by means of this communication I am hereby notifying you that you are not to present yourself for Holy Communion and, should you do so, you are not to be admitted to Holy Communion, until such time as you publically repudiate your advocacy for the legitimacy of abortion and confess and receive absolution of this grave sin in the sacrament of Penance.”

Which is the party that doesn't welcome those that espouse 'the Great Replacement Theory'? Which is the party that doesn't defend and try to protect those attempted to overturn a free and fair election?

Both parties have plenty of problems but none are as great as those mentioned above

Not that you seem the least bit concerned about the possibility, but if trump or someone like him who's "smarter" manages to destroy our fragile democracy, when you aren't preoccupied with posting "hotair" from the "unherd," perhaps you will make time in your busy day to express a modicum of remorse about the loss.
