You mean someone who shot 33% in college can improve to 41% in the NBA?

Will only be 19 on draft night
Good size at 6'6" 200lbs to play SG/SF
    World class leaping ability
    Excellent three point potential
    #1 rated high school player
Questionable effort defensively, but has the physical tools

Sure, we haven't seen him play college level competition, but how could a player like that not be worthy of a Top 5 pick!?!?

    Yes!!!

If he makes it his focus. But if already shooting 39% then he doesnt have to wait 3 F'ing seasons to be elite from 3P.

But more importantly elite defense and effort is not something you can just practice.

And being able to do both, elite from 3p and switch ability with elite length is special.

Dont overthink it - draft the 7 footer who is most efficient on offense AND defense.

Learn from these playoffs and the past several playoffs.

    DEFENSE AND 3P% MATTERS.

Combine starts tomorrow? Will we get measurements for those who don't opt out?

More Chet from High School! Eagerly waiting for new data to skim through. Hope all these guys do more than just measure at the combine.

What these playoffs are showing me is that you better have at least one guy that can go get his shot at all costs and be able to use that type of gravity to beat defenses with playmaking when they overcommit. Tatum, Steph, Luka, Jimmy to a lesser extent - playmakers and bullies who you are not going to stop once they have made up their mind on what they want to do. Find that guy.

What if we already have one or two? Do we need a third at the expense of defense?

Good read. Thanks. HIs comments on Duren got me thinking about his fit with the Rockets. He highlighted that Duren really does well when switched on perimeter guys. He can also get back into the play with his athleticism. It’s a big if, but what if Sengun really develops a 3 pt shot, does that make Duren one of the better fits with our later pick? Jabari or Chet, Duren, and Sengun makes for a pretty intriguing frontcourt.

Was this video recent? He doesn't look as skeletal shirtless lol... I mean, still skinny dude, but not the skeletal look he sometimes has... curious if this is from the last month or something?

Can't knock his attitude that's for sure, at least as he lays it out there.

Curious as it wasn't always 100% on display at Gonzaga - but I am a bit in the camp that that was Mark Few's fault more than anything. Dude relied so heavily on Timme, Timme and more Timme

    So Keegan Murray?

    Sharpe?

The best defensive teams can even take away Giannis, Steph, Harden, etc. - that's what I learned.

And there are no such players in this draft.

No there really isnt anything new other than him jumping rope. He's doing his work privately leading up to the combine I suppose. There was a run on high school film trying to discredit the other bigs in the conversation last week so I thought I'd dig through some of his HS tape. Thats where I see the "projections" come alive. Not in his college tape. I was hoping to see him go back to that during workouts and training sessions and remind everyone WHY he was thought of as generational to begin with. While I think his weight will be an issue at times, if this guy can break guys off the dribble, shoot 3's and defend the way he does he should be a no doubt #1 guy, but there still isnt a consensus even with a guy like Chet on the board.

I'm super eager to start hearing/watching video about his team workouts/combine scrimmages (if he participates) and how he responds to being worked out with other NBA bigs and wings whom he's supposed to be 'better' than for each of the top teams. I just want to see it. Even in a limited capacity and player friendly environment such as personal workouts.

Maybe. Murray has shown that infinitely more than Sharpe thats for sure. But ultimately yes. Find the guy who can lead you. Giannis did his thing, but injuries were too much to overcome for that team - hence needing more than 1 guy who can help you be the offensive fulcrum and bring true takeover ability.

I could even broach the topic that Chet has never been a leader. Suggs was the man on his high school team. Timme was the man on his college team. Chet might just prefer to not be the main offensive focus?

We have Jalen who is a primary. Thats really it. Sengun is a high post initiator with his passing, but he's not providing gravity to collapse a defense. KPJ is a little erratic getting to the hoop. His passing can become suspect in big games and he would probably perform better off ball on big possessions as a spot up shooter in my opinion.

Defense is important. Im not disputing that at all, but defense is a team concept. When its time to go get a bucket and win the game who do we have that can do that or set someone up to do that? If a team goes ALL OUT to stop Jalen Green what do we have then especially in the half court?

edit: if you have the time this is a little older and long winded but seems to encapsulate my thinking on winning basketball.
