I'm on day to day with recliner shoulder stiffness. I do not believe it will require a stint on IL.

 

I’m as disappointed as the next guy that Pena is not playing, but it is really early in the season to start taking chances. Give him a couple of weeks if he needs it. I’m ok with sitting Tucker to give Siri a chance at staying hot and giving him rest against a lefty.

 

Me too. But leaving a hot player in the line-up doesn't fit normal for Dusty.

 

So true! I am not a Dusty fan and he often sits guys that are on hot streaks and I find that super annoying and down right stupid at this point in the season. I suspect that Dubon starts tomorrow and Pena again sits. Let’s say Siri has another monster day. Dusty almost certainly will sit him for McCormick, right?

 

Are they moving Jake to the 60 day to make room for Dubon on the 40 man?

 

nothing on the 40 man move yet, but that's the move that makes the most sense.

I heard someone express concern they couldn't do it and send him on a rehab assignment, but I don't think that's a problem.

 

one has to wonder why it took 43 ABs to figure out he wasn’t a major league hitter. Seems like every team he’s every been on pretty much already knew that

 

Astros.com has the 40-man at 39 players without Dubon but including Meyers on the 10-day. Jones and Lance on the 60.

ETA: makes sense looking back at the transactions. When they DFA'd Baez he was never replaced on the 40 until today.

 

To be fair, in 2018 and 2019 he put up replacement-level numbers on a bad Tigers team, and is a switch hitter with positional versatility.

I think I lost track of Baez. I thought he might still accept assignment in the minors, but forgot that would remove him from the 40 man.
