I’m good with it. He’s not a bad player and he’s still only 27 years old. Adds depth. Nothing not to like.

Yes, read the SFG's coverage and they seem pretty disappointed to let him go. They'd have rather have traded someone else, but Dubon is the one without options left and is getting the squeeze. Seems like a fan favorite too as you mentioned.

Useful bench piece for a minor league depth catcher? deal.

Looking at his numbers at SS, he is actually above average defensively. He is also an average bat which is above average at SS, so I think this was a hell of a trade for us.

Agreed, and he can allegedly play average to plus defense at CF. Out of options but team control for his age 27, 28, 29 and 30 seasons. And up and down the system we have very little infield depth so it's likely he will have a spot as a utility guy on this team for several years.

With this addition the Astros have really solid position player depth with Diaz, Dobin, Siri, and Castro. What other team has better? Just asking, I really don’t keep up with other teams’ roster.

It's fine; solid if not above average on the defensive end. It was overall stronger in the past when Diaz was hitting like a 2nd division starter, not mediocre bench bat, Castro was running a 123 wRC+ and the sparkplug combo of Jose Siri and Jake Meyers were both punching way above their weight offensively.

The offensive fall off from starters to the bench is worse than it's been in a while.

Good job Click! We pretty much got him for free and have him locked up for a couple of years.

Papierski was DFA'd after 10 plate appearances. 1 walk 0 hits.

Dubon is a player, I've been saying this for a while.

    Great pickup by the team.

Diaz has been very disappointing this year

Still don't know WTF the Giants did with Papierski.

They dropped him almost immediately after barely a look. What could have happened so quickly to change opinion.

Dubon does what he’s asked to do. Play solid defense, his bat is coming around, and he’s versatile.

If you have to worry about his offense, then there’s a bigger problem than that (meaning the rest of the lineup is hitting terrible).

Maybe he was like that soccer football player that got cut for farting too much in the locker room.
