    Alpi is a true gem.

Will attend SL but unlikely to play.

He'll be playing enough with Turkey this summer as is. Try him out one game - half the minutes as a center with Garuba as a power forward and half the minutes as a center with a smallball lineup, and get a feel for how he does. No need to overexert him, Garuba needs those reps in the summer league at the center position more anyway.

I'd rather Garuba play zero minutes at C. If he isn't a PF, what are we doing here?

Sure hoping he finds time to hit the weight room. He needs to add 10/15 lbs of muscle to his upper body. If he does that he can become a solid defensive 5 in the NBA. His instincts and bbiq will make up for his lack of length.

There's absolutely no way he's a pure PF, his lack of reliable ball handling and polished offensive game will always limit him.

You can play him as a 4 if you have a versatile center like Sengun on offense so you can get away with him camping in the corner and picking up scraps. On the defensive end, you can use him as a free-for-all player that hunts the ball in passing lanes, goes for weakside blocks, switches and stops guys 1-on-1.

You can play him as a smallball 5 because he doesn't require touches on offense and is an interesting weapon due to his ability to sometimes hit the 3 which will draw out the opposing center and open driving lanes for guards. He'll struggle on defense against heavy, large 7-footers like Adams, that's why the Rockets need a true big man on this team. Holmgren please, I don't care if he's a twig, his positional defense is remarkable. But Garuba's strong fundamentals, boxing out, banging down low, can make him useful in certain center matchups.

If Garuba can put it together, you should be able to use him as a PF or a C depending on your opponent for at least 20 mins a game. That's a super valuable player to have.

Tl;dr - Garuba is a 4 on defense, but a 5 on offense. You have to utilise him correctly depending on matchups.

A little early to proclaim most improved player; it’s only been a few weeks. Lol

unfortunately I don’t buy this argument. It’s okay if we wanted to hold Gordon to include in a trade package this offseason or didn’t think a late first rounder would be as desirable as Gordon in a trade package. That I get. But this “we need him for his veteran locker room” nonsense is a joke. There are plenty of cheap locker room veterans u can round out your roster with if that’s your priority.

I don’t understand. What does this thread have to do with James Harden?

It doesn't say he won't be on the team. He may just not have been mentioned or confirmed yet. Unless he's traded it's hard to imagine him passing on summer league.

I'm hoping the kids come back with more skill, shooting, and a commitment to defense. They're all promising but either lack size or athleticism for their positions that they will have to overcome.

Nix is the only one that's big for his position but he's gotta get off the James Harden diet plan

I knew it. He will make the same jump in the NBA as he did in the G. KPJ doesn't have much longer at starting PG.

For sure, but he is also a teenager. We need to be developing him into something more than a small ball 5. Don’t use him where he is currently most comfortable.

I also think you are underselling his handle and floor awareness on offense. Should be giving him all the Draymond passing opportunities.

100% correct….he was wayyyy to slow for NBA level ball and it showed. Not aware of any workouts that increase your athletic ability and speed in just a few weeks???
