Yeah great. So odorizzi is having his best streak as an astro and stupid ass dusty just benches him for Javier who has his worst performance of his career. On top of that puts every minor league player on the roster in the lineup today.
Javier earned this start just as much as Odorizzi. Jake starts Monday so I don't get the criticism for that move. Javier just didn't pitch well. Totally don't get the lineup criticism...Altuve and Pena are out, he didn't exactly have any choice in the matter. Guess he could have started Castro at 1B, Yuli at 3B, Bregman at SS and Diaz at 2B to get Goodrum out of the lineup. But hopefully we won't be seeing much more of him in the future.
altuve and pena are not available tonight. Javier has been awesome so its definitely a surprise that he pitched so poorly.
Pretty sure if Odorizzi started and stunk it up, there would be complaining that Javier didn't start instead.
Fair to wonder if Bregman will ever approach anything close to peak Bregs. Dude has been an average hitter going on 3 seasons.
OPS+ was 142 coming into tonight, his 2 better seasons were 152 and 162. I'm torn about him, he's still seemingly popping up way too often, and he hasn't looked like '19 Bregman (should've won MVP that year), but given how offense is down everywhere he's been very good, esp compared to the last couple of years.
