Brandon Roy is who is compared to. If true he would fit nicely next to Green. Green / Sharpe could be the next big thing in the league. Paired with passing bigs. We could be more than special.

    it is not me…
    this is from draftroom
    Shaedon Sharpe
    NBA DRAFT SCOUTING REPORT
    POSITION:SG FROM:Kentucky
    (Canada) HT: 6-6 WT: 200
BORN: NA YEAR: Fr.. WING:NA REACH:NA
    Draft Notes

Sharpe is a big, quick, bouncy wing prospect with long arms and all the tools you want to see in a high level NBA prospect. After sitting out a season at Kentucky he projects as a possible top 4-8 pick in the 2022 draft.

Sharpe wasn’t a big name in high school basketball until the end of his career and has been flying up the rankings all the way to the no.1 overall spot in his class. He joined the Kentucky program mid season and didn’t play any minutes.

The first thing that stands out about Sharpe is his size. He’s got a very strong build with a lot of lower body strength and an overall very solid frame. He’s got ideal height for a wing with good length as well.

While I wouldn’t say he’s an elite level athlete Sharpe has all the tools to be elite at the next level. He’s got a quick first step and gets to the rim with ease and can really finish through contact.

He’s a great slasher and a good off ball cutter who always looks to take advantage of his nice finishing ability by making moves to the rim. He’s a ferocious dunker who can bring the house down with his monster dunking ability. Is very dangerous on backdoor cuts.

Sharpe is still developing his ball handling, play-making and outside shooting game but his progression over the years has been impressive and he’s well on his way to being a knockdown shooter. He also has the makings of a nice pull up jump shot and gets good rhythm with the dribble before rising up for the shot.

He’s not a pure shooter but shows a lot of promise and can be streaky hot at times.

Can play a little wild at times and over shoot the ball. His shot selection could use some work, but that should come when playing alongside NBA talent.

    Comparisons
    • Has some Brandon Roy in his game
    Draft Projection
top 5 pick in the 2022 NBA Draft or 2023 NBA Draft

    2022 SG Rankings
    1. Shaedon Sharpe – 6-6 – Kentucky (Canada)
    2. Jaden Ivey – 6-4 – Purdue

Now look at some of the articles written on emoni bates before this season

Michigan State Commit Emoni Bates Would Be In Mix For No. 1 Pick In This Year’s NBA Draft If Eligible, Experts Say
    https://www.forbes.com/sites/adamza...raft-if-eligible-experts-say/?sh=5c1a28be35c7

We have no idea who Bates is, hot takes are done on high school players every year, and then they face real competition in college/g-league/overseas and we get a much much better idea of what they usually are. Bates was a generational talent, the next KD, likely #1 pick... and then he played and now he's projected as a mid 2nd in 2023.

I think that bates can bump his draft stock with a year away from penny in memphis.

    but he's nowhere near generational

it appears he has all the tools you look for in a star prospect, but that's all we know. Generally, we just have to react to how the Rockets (and other teams) seem to perceive Sharpe leading up to the draft. If he's viewed as a top 3-5 prospect after interviews/private workouts, I'll get excited.

Brandon Boston has shown genuine promise with the Clippers in limited minutes. He needs to get stronger and let the game slow down for him. I don't know if Sharpe is going to be as good as him. We just don't know anything about his mindset. That's the biggest problem.

Lol the only diff between Bates and Sharpe is Bstes played and Sharpe didnt.

Sharpe can def be the next coming of MJ but imo anybody who takes him 5 is just dumb AF. How you know Sharpe is even better than Johnny Davis, Malaki Branham or Ben Mathurin? Judt cuz of high school games and workouts? Lol. Reminds me of that boat scene in Family Guy.

Sharpe could end up being a great player, but man oh man, I really hope we don't get fifth pick.

    Sharpe just makes me nervous.

Can he play the 3? If so, draft Jabari or Chet and trade up to 5 or 6 for Sharpe. Sell Indy or Portland on KPjs maturation +#17 and 2 more picks.

Caesar you're a very good poster. I do think KPJ should be retained. Jalen needs him, there will be too much defensive pressure on him otherwise. KPJ's passing is improving. I admit he will always be a scoring point guard.

If Sharpe is 6'6 , he could be a 3 with his strong frame, provided if he turns out to be a solid defender in a couple of years. I think he's talented, but he's raw. He's like a Poku pick. I wouldn't be mad at Stone if he chooses him, if his mental profile is healthy on and off the court.
