Simmons didnt play but he had value and represented Malcom Brogdon and a lotto pick. If Morey took that deal instead thats 4 players that would qualify as depth: Brogdon, Lotto pick, Curry and Drummond. Drummond can give Embiid more rest maybe he wouldnt end up injured.
Considering brogdon is always injured and that pick wouldn’t even happen till this offseason, they would basically have….nothing

Sixers can easily fix their depth issues this off-season using the MLE as long as their owner is willing to spend. When you make a big trade in season it's harder to complete the roster. Even with a healthy Harden that sixers team wasn't gonna win it. Players hadn't jelled and not sure they are good fits together. Bucks and Celtics are playing way better. If they didn't make the trade the Sixers probably lose to the Raptors in the first round.
