Nothing was disgraceful except 2 or 3 posters who were trolling and Mobley continued to get scorn when he was on another team. Stone has not proven ****, yet the real hard work has not happened yet.
The highest floor is very subjective. Banchero position is competing with the best players in the NBA to be a primary ball handler. If he isn't one of the best players, he's competing with Jabari, Chet, and Murray as off the ball players. As those 3 are better at shooting 3s and at defending, they have higher floors. I value high level 3/D players over tertiary ball handlers (i.e. not a PG and not the team's star). All the dribbling skills and mid range shooting skills don't help if there is someone better at those things on your team and you are parked in the corner. I see Sharpe and Ivey as swing for the fences picks.
Nobody questions his heart. Its simple physics really. It just boils down to elastic/inelastic collisions and linear momentum. Chet can prepare himself for a nightly dose of the Jalen Duren matchup in the NBA. He did "well" in that game right? Well after 30 straight games of that we'll really see what he's made of. Did you see Chet flop vs Duren? p=mv
Sigh. Do I really need to dig out the PAGES of receipts from reputable contributors here who went goofy? It WAS NOT just 1 or 2 troll jobs.
This is not true at all he never should be the primary ball handler as an NBA player, it's crazy the stuff that's attributed to what Banchero has to be. There is plenty of room between being the primary ball player and an off the ball guy, have you never heard of being a secondary playmaker or just a guy that can be involved in actions. We don't actually know if Holmgren will be a better 3 point shooter in the pro's and Banchero has a lot more ways to score currently than Holmgren the only thing he does better offensively now is shoot the 3. Why can't he be one of the best players?
We already have done this dance, and you could not, I read this forum just like you. You can do it if you want, but you have tried it before.
Chet was pretty trash from 3 during the tourney while Paolo the "terrible" shooter had SEVERAL big 3's to take or secure leads.
Im down for $100 tip jar bet. What are the parameters? What "advanced stats" are we going to use to determine the winner?
Yes, secondary playmaker and other action guys fall under tertiary scorers (i.e., not star and not a PG). it was in the post that you quoted that I value these guys less than 3/D players. There is a big dropoff in how much value a tertiary scorer can provide than that of a primary ballhandler. 3/D players have higher floors, are easier to involve in other actions as their defenders aren't camping in the paint, and provide better defense in most cases. Banchero may be one of the best players. If the Rockets select him, I will hope that is what he becomes. If Banchero is a primary ballhandler he should go before anyone else in the draft. I see that as a swing for the fence pick. On not knowing Chet is a better 3 point shooter than Banchero is in the pros, we haven't seen Banchero take mid range shots or shots at the rim against NBA defenders, either. All we know is what we've seen. Chet has been a better 3 point shooter and a better finisher at the rim in college. Banchero is better at making and creating mid range shots, but not as efficiently as Chet's threes and at the rim 2s. For someone who throws a fit anytime anyone projects anything about Chet or Jabari, you have no problem projecting Banchero.
Wut? So in your mind, Banchero can't be a star and everybody else can? Agenda much? There is no reason to say what kind of scorer that Banchero can be and bucket getters are always most always more valuable than 3 and D guys, that's the reason the get max contracts and 3 and D guys are usually journeymen lick Tucker. Who is this 3 and D that's moving the needle currently in the playoffs. Is Jaylen Brown a tertiary scorer, is Middleton is J Crowder moving the needle for the suns. Banchero is better at making and creating every shot, the bolded has let me know you really don't know what you are talking about and creating **** to denigrate the guy you don't want. When have I thrown a fit when somebody projected Holmgren? I have said constantly that I don't know what his ceiling is and that he could be KD lite. I can project Jabbari because he has the biggest hole in his game. All of this is about projection, but at least I project from things that I have actually seen a player do against high level competition.
