First Trailer is out, wondering when this was coming back..... HBO has premiered the first trailer for the fourth season of its sci-fi mystery series “Westworld” which returns to the network on June 26th. The new run comes over two years after the show’s third season premiere which began in March 2020, right as the early coronavirus pandemic lockdown began which saw it got slightly lost in the shuffle. The usual suspects including Evan Rachel Wood, Ed Harris, Thandwie Newton, Aaron Paul, Tessa Thompson, Luke Hemsworth, Angela Sarafyan and Jeffrey Wright are all back for the new run. https://www.darkhorizons.com/first-trailer-westworld-season-4/
I've liked every season so far. Sure, 3 was different and not as good as 1-2, but it was still a good season. Looking forward to S4.
The vibe was different though so it kept me watching. It puts the show in a place where it could be interesting - if they execute. Old HBO often had a problem where they'd put a ton of money into a show, then eventually, it'd just fizzle out.
The trailer itself did not pull me. The only time I was interested was when the hostess AI made her appearance. I've forgotten where they left off too.
I'm debating a rewatch. It's a big time commitment, though, what with my daily YouTube drivel to keep up with.
I tried and stopped. Then picked it up again and finished it. I believe I watched a video explaining everything as well which made me appreciate it more. I have mixed feelings about it. Overall though I appreciate the show because of the story and what it is trying to do. Hopefully 4 is at least as good or better.
I'm honestly kind of shocked. Season 3 felt kind of like the death throes of the series to me. Was confident they were done.
I liked S3 up until the last 3 episodes when all the buildup and intrigue amounted to nothing but a waste of time. They made some nice points about our future being run on and fought over data that essentially devalues peoples' lives but didn't tie it all back to the chopped and screwy 2nd season. It could've been brilliant but ended up being a disappointing wet fart where the writers try to impress upon you how smart they really are.
I guess I'm going to have to watch a recap because I've forgotten a lot of season 3. I do remember thinking I would be surprised if they made another season, though. So I guess this is a ... pleasant... surprise? Maybe it'll be good.
Season 1 is great Season 2 is confusing but still sort of had me Season 3 had some moments I feel like I’m only watching this show because I’ve already invested in it and I enjoy the sci-fi futuristic setting
