We don't have a crystal ball so we don't know how any of these players are going to turn out, much less Green. I think y'all have answered my question. . . . And it's - NO. Interesting. I thought there would be a few more people who may not have been as high on Green and maybe didn't want to miss out on a second Top prospect in this particular draft.
Watch Jalen do HISTORIC things to close the year and he gets rewarded with these kinds of threads? Rocket fans dont deserve nice things! Give up on something that proved he belonged in the NBA for two more unproven "projection" guys??? Makes no sense. Does everyone understand how LUCKY we got with Jalen Green?
I like your out of the box approach, I think we try a little patience. I am not worried either way. Will revisit this later. If it works it works, if somehow they are still not near contender status in 5-6 years you bet people will change their minds! Stat. Mob with pitchfork mentality..
the Rockets would look absolutely silly trading Jalen Green for the right to draft Ivey or Sharpe who aren’t even better prospects you’re proposing trading the #2 overall pick who balled out and has tremendous potential, for the #4 pick in a weaker draft to draft a lesser prospect it’s the very definition of hustling backwards and then KPJr being more of a SG as some sort of justification for trading Jalen Green away being ok all that when u could just add Chet or Jabari to Green and have your SG-big man combo no disrespect, but
Trading Sengun for a Top 5 pick is probably a more entertaining debate. And even that's a debate. Trading Jalen? To accommodate KPJ? Like trading prime Harden to accommodate Jeremy Lin.
Other NBA fanbases haven't caught up on Green yet. They weren't paying attention to a 40 game under .500 team like we were. You can bet that fanbases of any team making this trade would hate it until they realize how Jalen turned it around at the end of the season.
The better question is : Would you trade Jalen Green ? The answer : no. I wouldn't trade Jalen Green for anyone in the NBA. Rookie scale contract. Potential to be a serious franchise player. Luka, Tatum and Giannis are tempting due to their skill level and age but this team isn't ready for that. If I was starting a franchise from scratch from last year's draft it would be between Cade or Jalen. I prefer Jalen because he is a more malleable prospect who fits in almost anywhere as the #1. You have to build around Cade.
Luka, Ja and Tatum are the only players I would trade Green for. Giannis is past the age I would be comfortable with
I honestly don't trust Ja's health and wouldn't do that swap at this point. I think I'd be more likely to take Anthony Edwards but even then, I'd prefer the extra year of Jalen on a rookie scale deal. The possibilities of his trajectory are vast and that's very fun, it's been a very long time since the Rockets had a homegrown superstar.
That’s fair too. There’s still a very short list I’d be willing to trade Green for. Really, it’s the same for Alp as well imo
I'm not high on Sengun at all. I think he's a blast to watch but with his skillset there's a small margin for error for him to be a valuable player on a winning team. ' Even Sabonis is difficult to build around with a similar set of skills. Sengun could be great. it just is a small window in my opinion.
I am. The talent, skill level at that size and age is significant. He’s not done maturing physically and isn’t below average as it is athletically. He’s a consistent 3pt shot and pick and pop game away from being a star.
I hope he becomes a huge star because he's insanely likable. I do think drafting Banchero limits his ceiling so it will be interesting to see where the Rockets wind up in the draft.
I think Banchero and him can play together, if Banchero can defend wings. I don’t think he’s the best fit with the top 3, and not someone with high enough upside to pick over Chet or Jabari.
I think Banchero and Sengun both are at their peaks when the offense runs through them. KPJ likewise. I think they can adapt and learn to to play off of each other more but Green makes all of this easier because he's likely the best player on this team in 5 years and has so much versatility.
