i've only read bits and pieces here but why on God's green earth are Heard's lawyers so bad at their job? Does she not have enough financial resources to hire better lawyers?

Great analysis. Reading body language is one of those Pandora's box things that once you learn it, you can't unsee it.

She probably hired the people who stoked her ego the most, not the most qualified lawyers.

At this point that's more believable than her testimony.

Sometimes lawyers know their client sucks so they get their elbows in and dirty really just to show them

@SamFisher would agree, inauthenticity recognize inauthenticity

I know Rottenborn is from a different law firm than Bredehoft and Naderhaft (Baby Rottenborn).

My guess because 90% of AH's content and evidence are based on lies so the defendants have much less to work with.

The expert they picked is a heavy Me2 feminist who dislikes male for some reason.

I doubt they could find credible witnesses but I try to keep an open mind and it's been tough.

Really bad facts and really good opposing counsel can make good lawyers look bad. I suspect that's the case here.

I guess I've watched too many legal movies/tv but shouldn't the law firm actually review the evidence/facts before they take on a client? Like the lawyers representing Heard right now aren't making a compelling case for their client. But...

Bobby brings up a good point. Between the bad facts and the lies you mentioned @daywalker02 , this was a hail mary case from the get go

This is based on a true story- a good friend of mine took a wrong turn when he was younger and fell in with the wrong crowd. He and his buddies robbed his mom's best friend, who looked like cat lady lawyer. They didn't think she would be home but when they got there, she was in bed, naked, with a can of cheese wiz and her minpin dogs.

He played tight end and blew out his knee in high school. His brother said he was an amazing player and was being scouted by colleges around the state. It was a real blow to him. He was also the strongest person I ever knew for his size, he was 6'1", 210 and could bench press 450.

He did end up finishing college. Then years later, he reneged on a handshake deal with me for a very large sum of money in profits on a business venture we were in, so I guess he didn't change much. I didn't care about the money, but the betrayal still hurts. /feelings

Should have shook hands over a can of cheez whiz. That's the proper way to seal the deal.

He had the burden of proof, actually all Heard's team had to do is plea for "mutual abuse" and they won the legal case, the opinion is of the public is another matter and I doubt they would win it either way.

Mutual abuse, no defamation, Article headline edited by the ACLU........

They did try to widen the term domestic abuse (normally physical violence) and tried to include foul language, verbal abuse......Depp had an arsenal of flowery language and abstract black humor.

She does have a warped sense of reality and she copies quotes from movies, and hijacks details from DV surviors and actually Johnny to tell her side of the narrative.

For instance, she said she was feeling searing pain from a head-butt by JD but she did not feel that much pain when she allegedly got penetrated by a Vodka bottle (soldiers would do that to females during WW2)?
