You could also include the 2013 series against OKC when Westbrook went out in game 2 (b/c of Beverley). Also the 2016 series against the Warriors when Curry went out in game 2 (Motiejunas sweat). You could even argue that the 2020 season was a break for the Rockets due to the injuries suffered by the Warriors in the 2019 postseason. Too bad Harden chose to play with Westbrook/Covington instead of CP3/Capela.
Since Harden's role is to run the offense, it's disappointing when his shooting percentages tank. Volume points are meaningless when they come with low shooting percentages. Harden shot poorly against the Blazers in 2014. For the series, he shot 37.6% from the field and 29.6% from the 3pt line. Harden shot poorly against the Warriors in 2016. For the series, he shot 41% from the field and 31% from the 3pt line. Harden shot poorly against the Warriors in 2018. For the series, he shot 41.5% from the field and 24.4% from the 3pt line.
I recently compared Harden's dropoff in his early 30's to Larry Bird's. Now I thought of another thicc great player who fell off sharply by age 33: Adrian Dantley. Very wide for his time, when most players were sticks.
How about this wide dude? He came to Houston in his 13th season at the age of 33. His production dropped. But it can be argued that the decline in scoring was because he had to share the court with Hakeem and Drexler. His rebounding actually increased.
Dude Asian Sensation is a troll who has been hating on harden before he left I have no idea why you feel the need to give him cover. Even if what you say is true and people came at him, he has gone overboard with the trolling and hate, he should go at the people he feels came after him and not spam several threads with his Harden hate. That stuff goes both ways. Not sure about Asian sensation as I’ve only been on this board for the better part of a year or so but @HP3 has called me an antivaxxer multiple occasions bc he wanted to argue that harden has never got eliminated in the first round, I do not see the correlation but to each their own.. The guy is absolutely unhinged so if guys like Asian sensation want to return the favor a bit I see no harm.
