Claiming you are somehow above everyone because they are asleep or sheep and you are somehow enlightened and can virtue signal is a problem regardless of the side you are on but the case I would make is the Red Pill folks are woke to a reality that allows them to basically be selfish bigoted pricks while woke people on the left… while overreaching, being hypocritical at times, and acting over emotional… is a project of actually wanting to be a better more inclusive person. You actually want peoples lives to improve while the Red Pill People want to prove a nihilistic reality where it’s survival of the fittest and they are gonna get theirs and laugh at all you poor people.

Basically but most people who rail against "wokism" use it as a red herring to distract from actual problems. It's much easier to blame someone for saying something stupid on social media than to actually address problems and shortcomings of the leaders you support. The lies coming from the right to excuse those issues are remarkable, and it's even more remarkable that they try to say the left is the modern incarnation of 1984 and the Ministry of Truth when the reality is that the crap they follow on social media is the actual "Ministry of Truth" the book was warning about. Not that I actually disagree, but it gets my goat when someone can't find an historical example of just about anything. The Red Terror in the French Revolution was essentially an authoritarian regime borne out of egalitarian ideals and sought to defend the Revolution with dictatorship. It was not long-lived though. You could also say the Bolshevik Revolution was a woke egalitarian regime, though it was one that had violence and dictatorship baked into its ideology before it even took power, so I don't think that one fits as well.

"Blue Pill" and "Red Pill" are one of those pop culture memes that gets ideologically glommed on and as largely even lost the meaning that the Wachowski brothers (now sisters) had in The Matrix. What's happened is like so much things it's now used as a brand of tribal identity to quickly and simplistically communicate and sell concepts. It's also another vehicle for expressing grievances and superiority over perceived ideological enemies.
Also the Cultural Revolution and the Khmer Rouge which were both movements that pushed for radical egalitarianism of classes and even genders. Who saw the goals of their movements to overthrow historical power structures that oppressed and concentrated power among the few. The sad truth is any movement no matter how noble some of their ideals are can get hijacked by extremism. We can look at how many anti-Colonial movements used terrorism. How a movement like the ANC turned to violence including against other groups fighting Apartheid.
