Hmmm, so does would he be criminalized in Red States if he provides the tools and means to abort a fetus?

For sure, which is why he'd never do something like that.

The key question is how far states will go to prosecute women for having an abortion illegally. It's a real shame if women are forced to carry babies to term as a result of rape or incest, or in cases where the baby will not be viable outside the womb. It also calls into question what happens if a 14 year old girl is raped and gets pregnant.

We're seeing religious values trump personal freedom and privacy.

That's some pretty impressive mental gymnastics to generalize wide swaths of the population and twist all those issues into supporting a pro-life position

After reading a little more in Roe V Wade, in principle (states rights) I feel it should be overturned. However in practice, the extreme right will do more damage to the overall purpose and discussion than the extreme left. I have found it very difficult to have a practical discussion on this topic, especially straight ticket voters.

It always meant your body, my choice for most of these people.

Understand that and the positions make sense

No doubt. It sounds like Meg is triggered over other issues and is letting her MEGga trigger kind of dominate her.

It takes some kind of special to compare having to wear a mask when you shop at Walmart to the right to have an abortion.

You can never ban murder, you can only punish people who have already murdered. The inability to completely eliminate something by making it illegal does not make laws illegitimate. If it did, there would never be a need for sentencing provisions, jails, prisons, etc. Robbery, burglary, human trafficking, child p*rnography, rape, torture... they all still happen, even though they are illegal. No one says, well we didn't get rid of robbery by making it illegal, might as well just repeal that law.
Question: Are there any people here that believe that someone seeking an abortion cannot give the doctor a health reason they would benefit from an abortion (including reasons they have actually been coached to say). The pro-choice crowd destroyed this narrative when they abused it to mean that a woman who has stress about being able to afford having a baby is a sufficient threat to mental health to justify an abortion "for the health of the mother".
Pro-life and pro-choice positions are generally not strongly tied to gender.

I don't think that is the case during actual labor which is where this line started. Depending on the state, perhaps. It also depends on how early it is.

Yes, libertarians are divided on abortion. I am of the camp that recognizes the humanity of the child, which of course would make an abortion a murder of the child and clearly wrong (libertarians are against murder, in case you didn't know). Others do not recognize the humanity of the child, and they view anti-abortion legislation as government interference in the life of the pregnant woman. Sorry this wasn't quite the gotcha moment you were hoping for.

Yes, there are lots of contradictions.

Libertarians like to talk about government coercion as slavery, but Ron Paul once owned slaves.

    Really makes you think
