Green is a far more explosive Herro essentially. In a couple of years he will have a deep or deeper bag than Herro. Herro is really creative and I see Jalen showing some of that advanced foot work for a 19 year old and with his work ethic I can see him being a better version of Herro.
Wild how we made fun of Miami for not wanting to trade Herro for Harden, and now they are glad that they chose not to.
We would have been better and probably not gotten the 2nd pick (and would have given it to the thunder). We had Oladipo/Olynyk...not 6th man caliber guys.
nah…the Rockets were 1 of the worst teams ever, and Tyler Herro wasn’t changing that Olynyk is a borderline starting caliber player on a playoff team at best, and Oladipo sucked
We'll never know how good we would have been had we gotten Herro. All we know is that the way that the lottery balls bounced, it came out in our favor.
we would’ve been absolute trash…Tyler Herro was not the caliber of player that’s winning the Rockets a bunch of games
Last season's Herro wasn't close to what he is now. He would have been quite useful for tanking. Anyway, I've said this more than one time. The choice wasn't Simmons or Herro. It's the packages. Simmons' stock was much higher than Herro. So it's Simmons + X or Herro + Y, where Y >> X.
Perhaps not a ton more, but maybe a couple? The trade probably would have been Herro, Robinson, and draft comp for Harden. Does a lineup of Wall, Herro, Robinson, Tucker/Tate, and Wood win a few more games? Maybe. Maybe just enough to get us the second worst record, which would have changed the odds. Either way, the draft comp we got from the Nets is leagues ahead of whatever the Heat could have offered. For the record, I was one of the few posters to say we should consider what the Heat could offer and was blasted for it.
