    Kind of assumed this type of thing would happen after that Will Smith nonsense. It's a good thing they crippled the guy that did it as a warning to the next person who would try that.

    Disagree, people are idiots without original thought and are copycats of highly publicized 'new' behavior. Look at the prevalence of plane hijackings after the first incident in the late 1960s.

    While true that many people are sheepish idiots, there are literally dozens of incidents (I mean...Dimebag for f's sake. Jim Jefferies got his ass kicked on stage at a comedy club years ago, etc...) of this happening. None of those people needed "highly publicized 'new' behavior" to motivate them. It's nothing new, it sucks. Who knows what drove this crazy a'hole? Glad security f'd him up.

    It has happened incredibly rarely in the past, but Will Smith encouraged the behavior by doing and getting away with it on national TV.
