Chet did actually. It makes him better too. He played against Paolo who is maybe the best in college basketball. Figure that one out.
I am gonna honestly with a straight face say anyone the rockets select is NOT gonna be a bust . They are excellent and selecting talent and also developing those players !!
How many NBA players will come out from the WCC? Make it more interesting and don't include Gonzaga students. There is a reason why WCC schools don't do much out of conference. Duke had a tougher regular season schedule. Duke and Gonzaga were in the strongest regional bracket of the tournament. Duke had the tougher road. Gonzaga flamed out early. Duke won the regional championship.
At the time of this publication the numbers arent even relatively close. ACC had 88 players in the NBA compared to the WCCs 8 and Duke specifically had 29 players in the NBA vs 6 for Gonzaga. https://www.ncaa.com/news/basketbal...-19/colleges-most-players-2020-21-nba-rosters
Exactly, power 5 conferences always dominate talent pool. This draft will be heavy on players from Big 10 & SEC. However even with all the ACC players returning and collecting that NIL money the ACC will still send more players to the NBA this year than the WCC.
I'm not sayin Jabari has the biggest bust potential but the way a lot of fans have goo goo eyes for him, I'm afraid he'll be the biggest letdown. I'm afraid he'll be a rich man's Robert Covington or hover around Rashard Lewis potential. I hope he exceeds all expectations but I'm not suddenly expecting him to enter the NBA and all of a sudden learn how to have a dribble or be a playmaker. We'll see. Oh and I have Chet as the biggest bust potential. His ceiling outweighs that though. This draft will be remembered for a while IMO.
nope. Duke schedule was much easier than Zags. Zags played much better competition in the quad 1 and quad 2 teams. This is the epitome of casual who doesn't follow college basketball at all when your logic is based entirely on the ncaa tourney St. Mary's, BYU, SF, SC are all quad 1 teams. and this doesn't even include all the quad 1 teams they played ooc Individual players does not equal being better. power 5 schools recruit a long list of "talented" players but end up flaming out. That doesn't make them better. you can always tell who has actually followed college and how it works over someone who just literally started
https://bracketresearch.com/team-quadrant-wins-and-losses-tracker/ Teams play who's on the schedule. You can dig at the quad wins and be right, but the statement that better athletes come from the ACC still remains factual. Strength of schedule fluctuates and even quad wins or losses can be reclassified as teams either improve or worsen as the season goes on. Saying Gonzaga played better teams is a statement of fact I would concur, but it doesnt somehow slight Duke. Gonzaga still flamed out while Duke kept dancing because of the pedigree of their players and nothing to do with the schedule they played in the regular season.
Duke also has 2 players in projected top 6 and 3 players in projected top 20. At least 4 players in entire 1st round. Why didn't Duke win it all again? Championship should have been slam dunk with all that talent AND best player in draft amirite?
but but cf's says better players is the same as better teams all these teams with "talent" didn't apparently win it all. i wonder why
Alright cool. I don't believe in any of those two so I'm not the target audience. But, I do get the impression some people don't get there's a difference believing someone is borderline underweight vs believing someone is malnourished, going to crumble and have an injury riddled career. I do have legit concerns about his weight his first few years and think he'll have a harder time having an immediate impact like Evan did. He'll have to work harder than Evan to be NBA ready. But hey, you draft the player you think they can be (within reasonable time frame) not the player they are their rookie year. Also, you can't teach height! Also... did you really throw in Wilt in the mix regarding anything Chet and weight? Haha I get your point despite that random comp (and... Green?) haha
Good post and I think the goo goo eyes for Jabari is mostly because there isn't a consensus #1 so there's more focus (hope?) towards Jabari than if Jabari was in last years or next years draft class. For the record I think Jabaris elite 3 point shooting paired with his defense will allow him to have s better career than those 2 comps but they're fair
There really is no need to throw insults. Instead show me facts... NET SOS(quadrants) & RPI SOS had Duke above Gonzaga all year long. Individual team sheets: https://www.warrennolan.com/basketball/2022/net-teamsheets-plus https://www.warrennolan.com/basketball/2022/sos-net Gonzaga was never in the top 50 for strength of schedule. They only creeped up end of year with their final games in the tourney which were all struggles. So no Duke's schedule was not much easier. But if you want to talk Quadrants, then you know it isn't perfect. The quads are obviously too wide, playing away at SC or SMC is not the same as going to Columbus to face Ohio State. While you list those 4 schools in WCC. ACC next 7 had Miami, UNC, UVA, VT, ND, FSU, WF. Then you look at the bad teams like Clemson/PITT have NBA potential talent too and can and did beat schools like UNC. Not to mention the ACC was prematurely downgraded due to early season performance. There is no world where the bad teams like Pacific are beating SMC.
So basically Gonzaga had a tougher schedule. I knew that a long time ago. I sit back and laugh at casuals like you who don’t even follow college and stick to lazy nonsense
Looks like I lost you somewhere... You are reading SOS(strength of schedule) NET is for the new system. RPI the old system. Warren Nolan does a great job compiling everything in team sheets. #1. Being toughest schedule. Interested in how you came to your conclusion. There is a lot of numbers there but it isn't hard to follow. Duke is ranked 20 spots higher. Duke - 47 Gonzaga - 67
you didn't lose me anywhere. I already knew that Duke had a much weaker schedule than the zags who played better teams throughout the year
Based on what? The NCAA Evaluation Tool(NET) SOS rank using the Quad system is listed below. https://www.warrennolan.com/basketball/2022/sos-net You must be using the new YOLO system?
