I get trying to be objective but if you think Sengun's ceiling is Luis Scola...just lol. Scola on his best day couldn't pass like rookie Sengun. You're underselling Sengun *hard*.
How dare you sir, never again compare a rookie to franchise legend Luis Scola. He would foul out Sengun in 10 minutes of court time.
Banchero is not a 5 and has never played the 5 he is a wing and you have no idea how he would do as a 5 wingspan does not mean everything. If you are projecting him playing 5 for any amount of time you are doing it wrong and even if he does it will be as a small-ball 5 so nobody is respecting a small ball 5 to be a rim protector. This has nothing to do with hatred its just you pumping up the guy you have fallen in love with and hoping to get people on board. It's amazing that you are docking a guy for rim protection when nobody outside of people that don't have a clue thinks he needs to be a rim protector, that's just lazy analysis to quote what his size is.
exact draft location really wasn't my point. I just think the top 4-5 guys in this draft are a tier above alpy as a prospect. of course from here any of them can prove to be a tier below once their nba career starts or alpy can take a leap forward and prove to be on the same tier.
put me in the camp of not being that high on Sengun, or at least not as high as most people seem to be on here
If Sengun can keep developing his 3 point shot and post game, there's not reason why he can't be a starter on a really good team. Obviously he'll never be first team all defense but all he has to do is use his body, stay disciplined, and avoid foul trouble.
I’m an ardent fan of The Turk, and was early on, but I fail to understand why it is necessary to “put down” Olympic Gold Medal winner with the Argentine team in 2004, international star, and former Rockets hero Luis Scola in order to “pump up” who we hope to be yet another future Rockets hero, Alperen Sengun. Getting a bit ludicrous in this thread, in my humble opinion. Good post, @groovemachine, although it might take Luis all of 15 minutes and change. Sengun is learning.
They forget how relentless Scola was in the post for Houston and for Argentina. if Sengun has half his accolades when he retires he will have had a wonderful career. That said, I’m a fan of the young Turk as well!
