Good thing we let that scrub Springer go so we could re-sign Correa.

This team is so blind-blowingly frustrating.

the scandal broke after the 2019 season. Mentally, it hurt bregman as his numbers haven’t been nearly what they were.

I can not agree more, he and Trout were like buddies. Now, I don't think both acknowledge each other.

Playing .500 for a bit isn't the end of the world. Thus far, I wouldn't even say it has affected our playoff chances.

But just a few extra losses in most divisions most years is decided only by a couple games. Astros fans have been spoiled, winning the division easily most years recently. But other teams have narrowed the gap. It might be a tight race at the end this year. And if it is, these seeming insignificant losses now WILL BE significant then.

Agreed, except no Houston fan can be considered spoiled. The city is subpar sports-wise when considering size and results

He did have a very strong opening week. Enough to garner Player of the Week. I think the off days ruin his rhythm though...

For a city with 3 teams (usually), a championship about once every 10 years is about average. Houston has 3 championships in the last 30 years. The old f$cks have a gripe, but I am spoiled with how great the Astros have been the past several seasons, how great the Astros are, and how great the Astros will be the next few seasons.

I think it was just a combination of luck and the juiced ball helping him relatively more than other hitters. He's never been an exit velo/barrel rate darling and relied on the juiced ball and a lot of backspin to generate his power in 2019.

Show me how much better Philly, D.C., Denver, Phoenix and Atlanta have been over the last 35 years. Dallas is only slightly better because the Cowboys were a powerhouse 25 years ago.

The Texans/Oilers are garbage, but the Rockets and Astros have been above average franchises for the lifespan of most Clutchfans posters.

While I agree that juiced ball helped Bregman more than average, I do think injuries hampered him a lot the past two years. This season, his quality of contact is almost that of 2018-2019, but his K% is high for him relative to previous years.

    Interesting.

Not going to lie both Springer and Correa look like front-runners, I appreciate what Carlos did to take the pressure on himself, but it seemed like another way to get the spotlight.

The Rockets are above average… but what the Astros have done since 2015 is one of the rare sustained run of extreme success not a lot of fan bases have seen in any sport, let alone baseball.

Four of those cities have all 4 major sports. The city that doesn't is a smaller metro. Houston is the largest metro with only 3. Most those cities have multiple championships past 20 years -- respected championships. Don't get me started about Dallas. People get upset

Maybe the Coogs do greater things in the near future -- football and/or basketball

    Most?

I know off the top of my head Philly, Atlanta and Denver does not have multiple championships and now Houston is lesser because they don't have a Hockey championship?
