Don’t think we need to really.
Stingley, Nelson, King is solid first 3 imo

Stingley has a superstar aura to him. What does that mean? You're the best and you know it. An ultra-high level of confidence and a belief that he can be the very best in the NFL. Other players can sense that you are a stud and are impressed by it. Very few players have this. Stingley might be the only player in the 2022 draft with this superstar aura.

Other examples of players that have this type of superstar aura: Deion Sanders, Michael Jordan, Kobe, Fernando Tatis Jr, Bo Jackson, Tiger Woods

My big thing with this pick is, from what I recall lovie's defense does not require a star db. It needs a good safety which we passed up on. So this tells me 1 of 2 things. Either lovie is going to all of a sudden change his defensive philosophy or he is a 1 season coach so Texans can hire who they really want a year from now when the Flores smoke clears.

It seems like both the Texans and the Astros selected their coach/manager based on the fact that their reputation sheilds them from something rather than the person that they feel would be the best at their job.

We got a really good safety and an elite talent at corner. That’s better than Hamilton by himself.
Talent is talent, Stingley can play in any kind of system.
And it’s highly unlikely we have back to back one year coaches.

Easier recovery and less subsequent injuries - ACL or Lis Franc?

Havent caught up to all your comments yet, but I look at it like this:

A couple years ago, we joked about tanking all the way to #1 pick so that we could get the best QB by far, Deshaun Watson, at the following draft. For some reason, analysts boosted Mitch Trubisky and Mahomes had a great final year and we ended up not tanking hard enough but still got Watson at #12. Legal troubles aside, I thought that was awesome.

Fast forward to a year ago, and Stingley was BY FAR the highest touted DB, then he got hurt and the analysts again decided to focus on a guy with a cool nickname (Sauce). Now, Sauce is good, but I really think everyone had it right a year ago just like with Watson. This is the choice I wanted between the two top CBs. To me, an elite CB is better than a DE, they just can effect the game more.

As long as Sauce isn’t Mahomes in this scenario.
That would be a loss for us

Great memories. Never been that excited about a Texans pick like I was for Watson. Too bad didn’t work out.

Nah, I think Sauce is closer to Trubisky. Smaller school (not NC Tarheels small, but small) lesser talent to play against as well. But we will see.

Badger, Pitre and Stingley would be very nice. Seem like his offers are drying up so worth a shot.
