Oscar Isaac has really carried this series, I haven't got any idea what's going on but he just so good in both roles. I'm curious to see where this all ends up since it's supposed to be a one and done series...
I spoke too soon. just got done with ep5 and now i'm even more confused. i still think thor should wipe all the egyptian gods clean. a friend said she cried in this episode, it was too emotional. i mean, i guess... but i lel'd when steve showed up and was like "wo'?"
any brehs a bit versed in egyptology? is the whole egypt gods myth based on something true? it all seemed so made up.
I was sort of "meh" on the series until episode 5. It being tied together and its really good. Oscar Isaac is so good.
One of the best episodes in all of the MCU Disney+ series. I'd say top 3 easily. Isaac is LeBron 2006-2007'ing this right now.
I could but: 1. We don't know how this series is going to end so while Isaac can literally carry the last episode by himself like he's done the past 5 the series could be a let down, overall. 2. Lebron's supporting cast that year was pure ass. He willed a 50-32 team into the Finals. The CGI has been pretty bad, the storyline (outside of the Marc/Steven plot) has been ho-hum and the acting has been average at best outside of Isaac. But if next week's episode bangs I can change it to Hakeem 94-95
Gotcha. I can't stomach the guy most of the time but man...the guy really took that 06-07 team to the Finals. Sure they got their asses kicked by San Antonio but I don't think you'll ever see a team that mediocre ever make it to the Finals ever again. Larry Hughes was their second best scorer!
so... maybe oscar isaac is dirk-ing it? he'll get dream status if he caries the series for a season 2.
that's another good "one guy carrying his team" suggestion. I hope Isaac gets to be a part of the MCU movies though; being in a TV series is a bit low for the kind of acting he can deliver.
Funny, I was talking to my sons about that a couple of weeks ago. I told them he may put up numbers these days, but he can’t carry a team anymore. Not like he used to.
I would suggest watching the first episode again after watching episode 5. There are so many easter eggs in the first episode that seemed like either throw away lines or just useless props that basically foreshadows what was coming in episodes 4 and 5.
