I think on a lot of hot button issues, the Democratic party feels a bit more extreme.

Bernie didn't help with all his socialism talk. The me too movement - I could see that turning off a lot of Latinos who see it as empowerment of white women over others. I think immigration is a sensitive issue, particularly for Cuban Americans. I can also see how Latinos may feel taken for granted by Democrats.

It's likely losing because the younger generations are "more woke" than the geriatric fossils promoting these policies but that younger demographic can't raise families typical of what Americans their age could do 25-40 years ago. That's the irony of it all. It's also why Americans are having less and less babies.

The owners are saying "We hear you" all while they profit off of insider trading schemes...

Both parties allowed the Fed to handle policy in roughly the same way while doing nothing to simplify/reform a tax code that can't be resolved with one-off stimulus or tax breaks.

Meanwhile you have inflated asset prices that doesn't match wage increases. A low interest environment that punishes low income (or minority) savers who desperately need to build their credit scores and create proper collateral to borrow more.

Nor is there fact or faith that companies are paying market clearing wages to employees since '08, let alone whenever NAFTA was signed 25 years ago.

Homelessness is now rampant and unavoidable to the wandering eye in large cities while temporary forbearance schemes are slowly unraveling an debt driven lifestyle.

One off stimmys are nice, but at some point things will have to change. Ideas will have to be tried and tested.

I don't even think the electorate is ready for all that. They gave Biden a pair of dueces and forced him to go all in on the river.

Does it? He should have drawn his stick man facing only the left direction, because he clearly isn't paying attention to right side.

You mean to say your political views haven't changed at all during your adult life? That's interesting.

Where is the average Republican politician on gay marriage, or legalization of mar1juana now vs. 2008 (let alone 1988)? How about Democrats in 2008 vs. now on things like socialism, trans issues, reparations, free speech, immigration? Could you imagine AOC or Ilhan Omar being elected in 2008? The Democrats were still talking about winning the war in Afghanistan back then. No, there has definitely been a move to the left away from what would have been considered the center in 2008.

well yeah, I’m sure the Dixiecrats who became Republicans due to all the civil rights legislation would feel this way. So if guaranteeing the rights of disadvantaged minorities is moving leftward, I imagine most Democrats will gladly accept that accusation.

But otherwise, nothing the Democrats are doing today is much different than what a New Deal Democrat like Roosevelt would have proposed. Meanwhile, the Republican Party has taken a considerable lurch to the right.

The jackass in your tweet is either stupid or being disingenuous - perhaps both even.

And that hasn't happened to the right? Centrists in the GOP are being ostracized daily. Good lawmakers are being primaried by far right extremists, forcing them to go even further right.

Again, regardless of the GOP's hard rightward turn, the Democrats have not even remotely moved hard left. These fools who make this accusation but then show nothing to back it up.

I realize that people - particularly the politically uninformed and/or disinterested - vote with their feelings, and if all these people "feel" that the Democrats have moved too far leftward, then it's something that has to be addressed. But if all they're going to do is spout feelings without any specific example and then expect others to waste their time trying to disprove their feelings, it's not going to be a useful discussion.
