I think it's more accurate to say that there's been an increased clustering at the extreme ends, and people who used to be closer to the center have shifted in one direction or the other depending on which extreme side repels them more.

 

Half true. Conservatives have run in the opposite direction just as hard.

 

After that Bloomberg op/ed, I wouldn't be surprised if he trolled the internet like he trolled Bitcoin maxis by backing out.

I have no doubt liberal internet warriors are devising ways to weaponize Tesla...which is currently seen by Con politicians as an out-of-touch elitist product and totally not "blue collar".

 

Random, ordinary liberals and leftists seem more obnoxious and louder now because they have more platforms at their disposal to express their views, but it’s conservatives that have moved further right ideologically and in the way they operate in politics and government. Moderate Republican office holders, staffers, and writers have been run out of the party. Even Liz Freaking Cheney is persona non grata for today’s Republicans. Current GOP members of Congress (and their families) have received death threats because they voted for the bipartisan infrastructure bill.





In 2008, Nancy Pelosi was Speaker of the House, Joe Biden was the Democratic nominee for Vice President, and John McCain was the Republican nominee for President. In 2020, Nancy Pelosi was Speaker of the House, Joe Biden was the Democratic nominee for president and John McCain’s wife endorsed Biden.

At best you can “both sides” this, but no one can seriously suggest that it’s the Left that has become radicalized and the Right has stayed the same.

 

I like how all of the comments underneath that prove that it's actually the opposite and have research and data behind them.

 

Folks who feel this way (that the left are the exclusive bad actors and are the only ones who have radicalized over the last 20 years) are almost always located in liberal strongholds or working in extremely liberal industries.

It's just a product of their bubble. They're never exposed to or affected by conservative lunacy.
