The overall spirit/headline is not funny.

There are snippets/lines in the article that are funny though.

It was in bad taste to execute the Jesters for telling the truth. Jesters were allowed to insult anyone they wanted except to the queen @deb4rockets and her first ladies @durvasa . If the queen was insulted, the Jester could be executed. The Babylon Bee offended the Queens and her ladies.

When society starts silencing the comedians, the society is heading towards an authoritative direction.

We're all getting a little tired of folks overtly ******** on the concept of transsexualism being held up as "truth tellers".

Obnoxiously yelling over and over again that a trans-woman is actually/biologically a man, or vice versa, isn't noble, or in service of "truth" for that matter.

The Jesters truth is that nobody gives a **** about transgenders. Respect people for who they are, not some social self identifier. You dont execute the Jester for a truth or a lie, or more importantly an opinion.

I don't think this is how most took it.

That would be nice if trans people got that, and I don't think what the Bee did furthered that cause.

    Besides my point but agreed.

What do you continue to insult me personally and furthermore, why do you tag a couple other guys to always join in? It is actually childish and the one who liked your post doesn't surprise me at all.

I don't find the Babylon Bee to be offensive nor funny except maybe once or twice. But I do think what they did was an awful thing to do and clearly violated Twitter terms of service. Was it illegal? No. But that doesn't make it right either.

As for Twitter and its rights, Mush now inherits a difficult mess. I got out of the ad industry but while in it one of the problems channels like Twitter, YouTube, and Facebook faced was that brands did not want their ads to appear next to offensive or controversial comments, and that was a big part of the drive for these platforms to clean up the cess pool. It will be interesting to see how Twitter now walks that line without disenfranchising advertisers. It was smart for Twitter to sell.

I think it's safe to say Levine was, at the very least, collateral damage.

If you wanted to blast USA Today and the concept of tokenism, etc, you could probably do so a little more surgically and without punching down. It's a lot harder to do that, but that's what separates great satirists from the rest.

imo, the banning seems arbitrary and indefensibly political. Sure, Twitter is within its rights, but it'll only cause more headaches as to what the terms that lead to their enforcement really means.

Yep, they could've made oblique references (i.e. 4 star general) without referencing the person's name.

A bit on the nose and didn't help them on the tasteless/hurtful front, but hey, I'm a self proclaimed master of satire and a food critic rival to @Jeff.

The simple solution is to just move. Plenty of communities would embrace their disdain for modernity.

Of course that is not what they want. They want to b**** and moan like a bunch of old women people..
