This should be the way it's done every year. Make your adjustments before the draft for scheme and fit. Need is a tie-breaker. I still won't watch football, but I love playing GM on the simulation games.
The Draft games indicate Hutchison is the favorite at #1, then a group of 4 from 2-5 (Thibodeaux, Ekwanu, Gardner and Neal) and then another group of 4 6-9 (Stingley, Walker, Hamilton and Cross) before a free for all 10-16 (Wilson, London, McDuffie, Karlaftis, Williams, Willis and Lloyd) with a heavy receiver presence. But this is not matching up with the discussions.
Yes it is. Johnson is just as good, if not better, Thibs put up the same numbers as Johnson in the weak PAC 12. Pass, the Texans just got rid of a bunch of guys like Thibs. Don't want to base the rebuild off of guys that don't put football 1st. Build this thing on a solid foundation then you can add guys like Thibs.
I could see Stingley and Thibodeaux becoming the best two players from this draft. Or they could both flame out. High risk, high reward. At this point in time, we need so many pieces that we can’t afford either an injury bust or a head case/malcontent.
I agree that Johnson has the potential to end up just as good as, if not better than, Kayvon. I'm just simply playing devil's advocate. Kayvon has more of a track record and a pedigree. And to be fair, it's not like the ACC was that much better than the PAC 12.
The write up on Neal makes him look pretty solid.350, but moves well like a player 50 pounds lighter. Didn't miss games. Apparently Tusil is supposed to be that guy, but doesn't play like it for some reason. If we need players all over, start with OL.
You can't have 50 players go in the top 25. There are far too many players with someone pushing them as top 10 players. At least 20.
Who else fully expects the Texans to do something monumentally stupid with their pick? I hate how negative I’ve become about this organization by the way....
I like it…there is such a thing as too many draft picks. Which is why I think the Texans are more likely to trade up than down.
With Caserio? I doubt it. I’m sure there will be picks we can second guess or criticize 4 years from now but I’m not concerned about reaching for players or trading for less than fair value.
