Talent-wise, sure (eta: and cap-wise and potentially cost-wise). But he sounds like a headache and that's the reason they're talking about trading him after 1 year. https://www.nydailynews.com/sports/...0220420-2vwkiwngvzfb7jtnbft5zmsuiq-story.html eta2: For the right price, rolling the dice on a reclamation project with Cooks as his mentor isn't a bad idea, in theory.
What is the right price? Texans 3 for Giants 7 and Toney? That still gives the Texans 7 and 13. Plus you don't spend a 1st or 2nd rounder on a receiver this year.
Hell if I know. Desperate to trade him price + maybe something? Does the NFL do conditional picks? Nothing in the 1st 2 rounds (as it stands without trading for xtra picks) this year for sure. Kinda how the Rockets got KPJ? In theory.
I think someone would offer more than a 5th. They might offer a 3rd. I would be all over him for a 5th. Okay I looked at the draft point value chart. I might do this. Texans give up 3 =2200 pts Giants give up 7, 36, 112, Toney = 2110 pts leaving Toney worth about 90 points in this scenario. So a 3rd rounder point value
Kadarius Toney is a special talent. Total danger zone in terms of his behavior though. Probably not a fit for the Texans as they try to recover from previous bad actors with Watson, Stills, and D-Hop.
Toney was injured all the time last year like a lot of the Giants’ skill players. If you played fantasy you would know he was always “the sleeper who is going to blow up this week” who was usually injured instead or didn’t live up to the hype most of the time. Perhaps that second part is explained by ineptitude of Giants QB/offense, but at the very least it’s a red flag that should preclude giving up a whole hell of a lot in trade
Stills was running drugs and DHop was a selfish, prima donna malcontent who forced us to trade him and receive back pennies on the dollar.
This! They’re already in a weaker bargaining position. There’s a reason they’re giving up on him so soon. He may be worth a third rounder to someone else, but not us. I’d be upset if we gave up a fifth rounder. This club needs all the new talent it can get. They need players with the right mentality. Toney is not right for this club. This is being leaked for someone like the packers.
All for gambling on problem players at the right price. Not a third round draft pick for an injury prone problem receiver.
They eyeing someone they think might drop? Why would a rebuilding team do this trade, even if they’re low round picks?
